There are some interesting set-ups prior to the ending that I could appreciate, but its ultimate conclusion was kind of a buzzkill and didn't quite live up to the hype. Nonetheless, this is still a fairly solid book (albeit the plot was straight up ripped from American films - even the authors admitted this themselves) that should be popular with the average reader. Also, the art style reminds me a lot of Tenzen Momoko's. Or maybe it should be other way around lol..

It seems so short. It could have been longer. Mamahara Ellie's stories always leaves me wanting more. She gives a proper ending, but I wish that could have dragged out a little more, like with an omake, showing them together like usual.

As usual, Mamahara Ellie offers up a nice plot backed by her clean and fun art. I never certain why I like her titles sometimes, but like this one, I find myself endeared by them. It's funny and sweet and certainly worth your time!

The endearing story really makes for not just a good shounen-ai, but an all around, great manga. If you're looking for a good combination of mystery, crime, guns, sex, gangs, a cute estranged foreigner, and angels; this'll definitely hook you on to each and every single page; making it one of the most well-rounded (short) manga I've ever read. Of course, the art is beautiful--- it's Ellie! But the development of the main characters and their relationship that was not overbearing, yet perfectly paced created a warmth of empathy towards the character and the subtle instances of love were "kawaii". Although the addition of sci-fi at the end throws you off course a bit, the very ending will leave you (if endings like these are within your taste) happy but probably not satisfied. I personally, enjoyed the simplicity and endearing nature of the ending (beautiful, I almost cried! XD). But then again, there were parts in the story that were forced, imitated and predictable (the author even admits taking inspirations from Tarantino's "From Dusk Til Dawn", "Kill Bill" and "It's a Wonderful Life"--- great titles and uses for inspiration though) and at times, with the strong combinations of all those factors of storytelling within just one volume, it was hard to keep up with the complete details of story itself (unless it was just me?) I thought sometimes it became a bit confusing! But other than that, this was one of the best stories ever! With a storyline like this, Ellie could've definitely made this a long running enjoyable and interesting series, and I believe this could even become a great movie (send this manga to bignamed screenplay writers and directors immediately!)--- but a controversial movie at that (aren't those the best anyways), if you want to know why I suggest you read it NOW!

when i read this one a while back i liked the art and the story but i never would have guessed that i had previously read stories from this mangaka and it was great....although that ending just like her previous works just leave you guessing and fill in the blanks.

well, love the clingy types and this was perfect example, also obsessed with movies and got a kick out of the "its a wonderful life" reference. plus i like the main characters and how they are drawn, worth a try...
