fails as comedy

Fails as interesting story, and fails as good wank material. Maybe I just don't know the right "metropolitan" gays in order to find whatever the stereotypes are supposed to be funny. The only stereotype I actually recognize is that of the emotionally overwrought actor who can't separate his role from his real life -- nothing particularly gay about that, and the way it's shown isn't very funny. In any case, there are too damn many "men" in dresses here. Maybe the mangaka got tired of drawing yaoi and wanted to draw shoujo instead? and I'll never find rape funny, not in a million years, sorry. The oneshot isn't as bad as the rest, but is also not something worth reading twice. The art isn't horrible, but it's also not memorable, even discounting that the scans are from chinese raws which are always of pitiful quality.

it doesn't help that the translation is crappy (yo, obsession, what happened to you guys there? this is way sub-standard for you.)

More “gay” than “yaoi”

What's frequently knows as feminine/queer gay behaviour is, in my mind at least, shown in this manga. Moreso than what's typically known as yaoi for women. I'm trying to say that the characters in this manga more closely follows the gay stereotypes in the “real“ gay (metropolitan) world rather than in boys' love manga.

That said, and me being gay, I found this volume hilarious and a good pillow companion for my late evening thoughts. I've reread it several times, and I sincerly hope some company finds it plausible to license this.

If you love ballet, enjoy stereotypes and wish for something hilarious, this might be something for you. ^__^
