A collection of stories revolving around a gallery that sells fake paintings.

1. I Can't Go Back
Kabaiki Akira is the salesman for a gallery that sells fake paintings. He prides his skill of getting wealthy ladies to pay exorbitant amounts for the fakes, but trouble arises when a disagreeable guy pushes him around and takes him out for drinks. Akira wakes up in a hotel room... and why does the guy seem to know him?

2. Those That Emerged From The Night
This is a story about the boss from ch. 1, before he opened his gallery.
Yahiro Morishita is a genius painter who forages famous paintings, just from seeing them once. An introduction to a man named Kaji, an opportunity, and an old "childhood friend", triggers a series of events that makes the old saying "you reap what you sow" comes true when he finds himself tied up in the trunk of a car and almost dropped in the bay.

3. The Day Rain Fell from the Sky
This story involves Yahiro and Kaji from the previous chapter. This time, they're involved in a messy case of inheritance with a recently deceased famous painter named Tsuge, his money grubbing wife, and her son. But how does Shibata-san, the Tsuge family's servant, play into all this, and who is his loyalty for?

4. Tangerine
In a warm, orange-colored illusion, the abandoned son of a writer and the man who loves his father find friendship together...

5. Fenced-in Boys
Tana and Ichinose go to Ryoukufuu High, an all-boys boarding school. Ichinose is known around the school as "gay boy" because he'll go for anyone (boy or girl) who's cute... and Tana fits the bill. But Tana is straight as an arrow... right?

6. extra
An extra about Yahiro and Kaji. Jun comes back from hiding, and then there's Naoyuki (the son from 3). So many rivals (@.@).

NOTE: The first chapter is occurring after the other gallery-related chapters. Although it comes first, time-wise, it is last.

This is a really interesting collection of stories, don't be fooled by the cover or the short summary. Althought the first story isn't that convincing (the rest of them are much better - the mangaka mentions in her afterword that she wasn't really sure about it while drawing it, but it helped her find her way into the rest of the stories, which seems to be a pretty accurate observation) I felt each story hat a pretty unique twist to it that managed to raise them above the level of usual yaoi oneshots. The characters are interesting, fleshed out in terms of oneshot standards, flawed and likeable, and the mangaka did a really good job of creating something new and different. There are some common settings and pairings, but she manages to tell things in a very fresh and refreshing way. This is definitely worth reading, if you take time to note the little differences and added flavours, and if you're bored with always the same conversations, stereotypes and reactions in yaoi. Besides, there's some seriously sweet manly romance in there. Really, read it.

Summary for each story; my likes and dislikes

The summary for the first story's a little misleading. It wasn't much of an "interesting" reunion.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I was a little excited at first cause there I thought oh cool so the seme actually had the advantage. I didn't actually understand where the uke was trying to get at. I thought they had this meaningful "past" which would explain the seme's action. But when the uke remembered who he was and the seme explained why he did what he was so trivial and stupid. And the guy in the hospital..why was he even involved? He didnt even take part in the relationship between the leads. Even though the uke pays for his hospital bills, there wasn't even an explanation behind it. There was no basis to the story whatsoever. Boring. Boring.

The 2nd & 3rd story, these were about the gallery owner. I actually liked this one even though the plot wasn't much. The owner and Kaji were really sweet together.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I liked how the owner stayed loyal to Kaji. For a moment I thought he would succumb to the boy he was painting but I'm glad he gave a "i'm only attracted to Kaji" slap on the face. Compared to the 1st story they were actually a "definite" couple. I like the way their characters were written. The uke's personality complemented the seme. And the afterwards story was so cute! This is actually the only one worth reading.

The 4th story was about this guy who had divorced parents. He then falls in love with this other guy who admires his father. Horrible plot, really. Not my cup of tea.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
It would've been nice if either the son or the father weren't involved in the story (one of them would've sufficed). Also, Aki's feelings remained vague. Did he love the dad in a "fartherly" way? Cause nearing the end he started reminicing about his father and comparing them. But in the beginning, he told Sou he admired Sou's father alot, etc etc. And the way Aki was so clingy towards the dad implied it wasn't platonic. Anyway, it was all over the place. Unsatisfying.

The 5th story had a mediocre plot. All boys school. Boys peeping into girls changing. Comes this good looking guy who's interested in one the peepers (lol what a term).
Spoiler (highlight to view)
But their sex scene at the rooftop was a definite plus. The uke hanging onto the fence made it steamy, so it was quite enjoyable. I have to point out though, when the uke reasoned that the gays are what they are, was because of the lack of women in their surroundings. I strongly disagreed, how frustrating to even point it out but I just wanted to say. You like what you like. There's no rule saying guys should only love girls and vice versa.

Overall, the manga in general was boring. The plots were barely a pass. I wont rate cause I cant decide since I dont like it enough to give it anything over 7. But nor do I strongly dislike it to give it anything below that (since the 2nd story was sweet)
