I read that until now it's only up to chapter 73...
that's why I was wondering if the series stayed in Hiatus or the author suffered ANOTHER accident...

The series derails heavily after

Muraki dies, the art changes drastically (for the better), & the main characters take a complete back seat to secondary & new characters. It's like I'm not even reading the same manga anymore but a side story.

As for the genre, it's definitely BL. It's listed as being such on Amazon Japan. There's a pretty blatant love polygon between several male characters that can be interpreted as Tsuzuki's all-male harem. There's also a forbidden love between

brothers in the last volume, a & guy named Nagare getting raped twice by a male tentacle demon at the end of volume 11.

..the manga will end some day. hell, i first watched it as a middle-schooler and collect the manga after that.
it's a miracle that a publisher in my country released this.
always been my fave all these years.

I'm very happy right now. .... Let's see if I remember anything, or if I can still find some volumes at the library....

Hand Injury

Yoko Matsushita, the mangaka, suffered a hand injury; so the manga was on hiatus until it resumed serialization in September 2011.
The artwork is still amazing. I am looking forward to the new story arcs because there is much that has not been resolved i.e. Tsuzuki's complete background; Hisoka's background and his search for his own familiar and/or shinigami; and in general, the Jade Emperor's disappearance and how it effects the shinigami. I hope Matsushita will create more volumes in the future because there is so much potential.

My opinion is that Yami no is such a great story : ]
I do like it a lot. i've read it like 5 years ago in my language version.
Well, I think the manga is way better than the anime. (the anime is not bad, but i dont know if it's because it's old, the graphic and effect in the anime don't impress me)
I love the fact that this is a normal manga that just tends toward being a shonen-ai with no explicit scenes. (so I can use my own imagination to pair Suzuki with anyone i like, which of course Not Hisoka lol). Suzuki is soooooooo cute <3

I don't think the mangaka put unnessary things in it tho. I wanna know why the Baron who wear the mask shows signs of personal care for Suzuki, I'd want to see more of Hisoka's fighting ability development, and of course, i do want to know more abt Suzuki's tragic past.

The art is ok at first but started to be gorgeous in later volume.

I'm sad that even tho it've passed five years since i stopped reading it (cos there's no more volume) but it's still on Hiatus TT__TT
I've heard rumor too, like Shagami, that the mangaka is making a come-back. But that's was like last year, so why does its status in this site still on "Hiatus"? (sob)

The anime is way better than the manga. First of all, it's NOT on hiatus status. The anime is complete; second of all, the shounen-ai, the comedy, the dark pasts for our sweet sweet Tsuzuki, Hisoka, and Mr. Muraki, and the gothic theme of Heaven are all present.

Hisoka's story was complete before we knew it. Tsuzuki's past was catching up quick and Muraki's giving chase to Tsuzuki to make his corpse his own brother's. Tragic, sad, and a little bit of Muraki-you're-evil-but-let's-"do"-it spice in it. > 😀

Unfortunately, the manga is all mumbo-jumbo'd into a book. All these unnecessary things getting in Tsuzuki's way (like the invisible guy taking a liking to our purple-eyed hero) and Hisoka journeying into the world of Spirit Beasts (Such as Byakko and Phoenix, blah blah). Anime was way better; say, I should watch it again.

I have mixed feelings about this manga because of the different genres it tries to incorporate. First of all, it's supposed to be a fantasy series. The premise of the Ministry of Hades is pretty cool but I feel like it's not exploited to the fullest because most of the time, the mysteries that Tsuzuki et al have to solve could happen is just about any detective manga. It's just not very original in this sense.

Then, sometimes, it veers off into comedy. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but in other parts of the manga it's very dark so it feels like a bad fit. The shounen-ai elements are buried veeeeery deeply, if they're even there at all, but you can tell Matsushima-sensei likes to tease. If you like BL, there are better places to find it.

Overall, this manga just feels like too much of a jumble to hold my interest.

I love this manga as much as I love the anime! Tsuzuki is so adorable and I love everyting about him.
The artwork is awesome, hot guys and very well-drawn.

Why can't the mangaka countinue drawing? This is one of the best mangas ever, in my opinion.

There was some news that the mangka is now going to start back in drawing the manga, the style might be a tad different, but I would LOVE to see whats going to happen!
