Description
From DMP:
Kojima seeks to befriend the class outcast, and soon learns of Nakahara's troubled family life - of his uncaring, abusive father and mentally unstable mother. As Kojima yearns to somehow comfort Nakahara, he gradually becomes aware that his feelings for the other boy arise from more than mere sympathy. When Nakahara declares his own romantic feelings for Kojima, their relationship becomes one of sexual exploration as they face their first steps into adulthood together.

Nakahara's self control is truly commendable (fight on!!), and TAKANAGA Hinako's attention to the narrative structure , pacing, paneling, and its execution is truly splendid.
The manga is cute, light, fluffy and the couple is shown is a relationship where both love each to bits without over doing it. And what really surprised me was the talk about consent. That was something I was not expecting at all.
The only objectionable element for me was Nakahara's family situation. I had hoped to see more about that, and what role does Nakahara's uncle play in his life.
Lastly, Kojima is just too cute.

There is something very special about this manga, I'm not even sure what it is. But the very first time i read it, i got these goosebumps, and this funny feeling in my heart, that i havent managed to feel with any other manga. I remember how happy and excited i was the first time they kissed.. wow! great scene... =) I have been reading manga for many years now, and this manga is one i never forget, along with the manga Cut! by Kawai Touko.

What i like the most, is that they dont get together on the first day, and fall madly in love. Or sleep together and then realize they must be together forever! They become friends first, and then one of them develops feelings. Slowly, the other one does too. But is resistant to it. Its one of the more realistic yaoi manga i have read. SPOILER! They dont even sleep together until the last volume! What a Shock!

Give this one a try!

Fine

My main issue with Takanaga Hinako is that, although her characters are beautiful and build up with care more often than not, the art decreases significantly as we go. I usually tend to keep away from this kind of shoujo-like style, but I find her MCs quite honest, which helps me cope with the girly uke, so to speak. However, I can't get over the fact that the beautiful, clean panels I always fall in love with in the beginning (as in here, throughout the first volume) become crowded and shadowed and messy after a while. Get over with it, right? Of course I've seen much worse.

The plot may be a tad cliché and all but I felt deeply for Nakahara and his story, even for his mother. And Kojima himself got me rooting for him. He definitely earn a few extra points the day he stood up to Nakahara's dad, but even apart from that, I particularly enjoyed his will to fight for his love. Of course there was all the initial drama, the experimentation, the to be or not to be's of the first love (although not obviously enforced on us, so it felt quite natural in the course of the narrative), but in the end this was a guy who knew what he wanted and he wouldn't let himself fall asleep until he got his business done.

It's a decent read for a "coming-of-age meets angst" story (:

My First Yaoi Ever ♥

As aforementioned above, this was the first yaoi manga I've ever read. My friend told me to check it out and I regret nothing. What's funny is that I jumped into it without even knowing what the heck gay means. So this manga is what got me into the whole boyxboy genre.

Nakahara and Kojima have a very innocent and heart-warming relationship. It's nice to see all their different interactions and the chemistry blossoming between them as time goes on. Despite being a somewhat slow-paced manga, it's enjoyable to read and it's perfect for anybody seeking pure angelic fluff.

One thing that bothers me a little is that
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Nakahara confessed to Kojima in a hospital
but that's just my personal opinion and I feel like most readers probably found that scene adorable.

It's a bit interesting to have a crybaby paired up with a stoic guy who's surprisingly emotional. I think Nakahara is a bit different from your typical taciturn seme. He's kind and caring, but at the same time you could call him persistent and a bit of a "pervert". You probably won't know how to feel about him for a while. You could either really hate him or love him.

This manga will take you on an unforgettable rollercoaster ride of emotions. You definitely don't want to miss out on this one.

While I enjoy this manga a lot, one thing I'd like to mention - if possible, you might want to get your hands on the Japanese version instead of reading June's translation. The official English version has them as highschoolers heading to University, probably so they can pretend their 18 years old.

It is cute, fun, entrancing and in not so many words addictive!!! You can fall in love with the characters as easily as you can breath. It will make your heart race with them and will have you wishing for the best while fearing for the worst thew whole time. It is sweet but interesting and fresh and that is a RARE combination.

I really enjoyed the manga and i agree about most of the positive views.
the reason i am writing a comment is about categorization.
1. the story does not take place when they are students at middle school (honestly, i didnt read it for so long because had thought it was so. just a waste of time, i should have read it earlier.)
2. I cannot agree sexual experimentation. there is not much going on. it is just they take the first steps. so if you seek for many-pages-long steamy scenes, you would be dissapointed. but other than this it was a very nice and realistic way to approach their doubts and desires.

I started reading the first few pages, and then before I knew it, I got hooked and read all of it in one sitting (good bye sleep~)
Kojima and Nakahara are an adorable couple. They make my heart melt.
This is just the kind of manga I've been looking for.
I really enjoy the art. Will have to check out this mangaka smile

Not Bad

I enjoyed the story and the depth to it. What came to my mind when I finished it was that it was a bit overrated. I didn´t find the plot that unusuall, maybe I´ve outgrown this kinda theme. However, just because the plot isn´t original that doesn´t mean it´s bad. Acutally I thought it was really good, I liked the characters and the chemistry between the couple. I always base my ratings on the feeling I get from a manga, and this one definitly gave me many feelings.

As much as I liked the story, I can´t say the same for the art. I´m not a fan of Takanaga Hinakos art and this manga reminded me exactly why. I hate overly blushing and girly ukes, the uke was definitly VERY girly and all the over blushing made him even more effeminate. Not really my thing.
I´m giving this a 9, I liked the story but it didn´t have that little extra that I was looking for, also the art isn´t to be praised either. Recommended for you who like fluffy things with a "dark" theme to it.
