We all know that a lot of the booty of the golden age of explorations made it into museums. Its a detective novel, but i do like learning some bits and pieces of history, for example, how the united nations functions. All those things. Its a really good read for anyone who is interested
I would not really recommend this if you are looking for romance, also i really wished they talked more about the mother and what exactly made her so unique that all those men loved her. As well as who was shinra real father.
Reagedless its a great manga, and im like to think tanase and shinra are a canon couple

Maybe good as a relaxing "mystery" reading, but quite shallow (MCs are uninteresting, the boy has god-like knowledge and intelligence...) and becomes boring after a few volumes. Recommend Shinrei Tantei Yakimo, Ghost Hunt or Detective Conan instead.

For those who love mystery manga but wanted it to be more light, without too much thinking and/or too much conflict like Detective Conan, CMB and QED are recommended. Personally I like both CMB and QED (Well, maybe QED a little bit more).
Of course it will be entertaining if there is a little bit of character development on the main character. At least, I wish some relationship improvement. Lol. But I remembered there's this one chapter on QED when the drama club needed So's help to make a script about mystery drama. So make it really simple, with a story that didn't require too much thinking and all, and not much character development.
I think both QED and CMB were written with that kind of concept. It's still entertaining and makes us wonder who's the culprit, but we wouldn't need to think too much. That's what makes them different from Detective Conan, Detective Q, Kindaichi, and some other mystery genre titles.
Would give it 8/10.

Mediocre at best.

Another mystery manga that portrays policemen as retards, is quite shallow and at times dumb and also confuses something being possible with it being a fact, not to mention the rather pathetic MC seems to base his thinking process around the assumption the suspects don't like "it can't be him because he said blah blah..." talk about weak argumentation. In any case, the mysteries are not particularly good so far or what's hard is not the the crime itself but finding or interpreting the witness and stuff like that.
I also don't find the MC believable at all, being very intelligent is one thing, having vast knowledge is something that comes from time and experience, being the son of ... doesn't count for sh*t, so that's very dumb, also he's quite dumb for someone with that knowledge and intelligence. Also, he's not precisely likeable and how he extorts people to give them an answer is plain extorsion which I can't see how someone might find it interesting or funny.
All in all this is a rather bad mystery manga imo.

while the heroine have really same side with Kana on Q.E.D
the MC is another counter-part of Touma
what i meant is while Touma is major on Math, Shinra given title by "sage" which field consist of archaeology, biology, also history
their point of view is definitely different
but still logic is use here, even so Shinra have too many mystic in his case -_-'
the story itself even shorter than Q.E.D but the comedy is more in here
it's your choice to pick one or both of the series

it's same plot with Q.E.D but it's more like the development of Q.E.D
the genius main character but is still a boy and has kind of "nobility" in british museum (-souma,the main in Q.E.D is just a "simple" high school student that has graduated from MIT. nothing more) and the main heroin is more feminine and calmer than the one in Q.E.D but has same strenght.
the story is more various because it often takes places all around the world and bring you something new and give you knowledge, especially about history. and the author is succed to show the reader what he thinks about mysteries that happened in the world's ressurection like pyramida, colosseum, etc.
conclusion: read this if you like history and if you dont, you'll be made to like history lol

I read up to 15 volumes and I find it very entertaining.
All the stories background most are historical events and when i googled it, it was just exactly like the way it was depicted, in some cases i was a bit confused separating the history and the fiction (especially on volume 4, the Judean Fortune). Yes, the characters are so familiar with the other Katou-san works but it doesn't bother too much. I love most of the stories, situations, the school-mate characters and the meaning behind some stories
PS. I read three series of Katou-san's - CMB, Rocket Man and Q.E.D and just wondering how he wrote that storied, is he some professor or something? :S

If u read my comment on QED page then u need to know that CMB doesn't have all that weakness.
All I can say is this a better version of QED
the heroine is identical means Motohiro Katou really like this kind of character
CMB is more enjoyable than QED coz the cases are more related to other cases and to the characters
yeah, more recurring characters too, this is good, a must read

I have only have three volumes of this but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.. it was annoying in some parts like before he solves the case he says welcome to wundermaker or something.. but other than that, this manga is worth reading if you like mystery
