Lovey art and story line that is at once silly & a bit sad. Kumi and Sakuma's relationship evolves quite nicely but the way it does is atypical of yaoi. The stories could have been fleshed out a tad bit more but the mangaka still developed the characters fairly well. They each had a distinctive feel and I grew to like all of them in some way or another.

I also loved the non-chronological format of this. There was so much going on between the lines. I really do hope the mangaka expands on the side characters in the future (as she hinted at).

The only other manga that I've read that incorporated the backdrop of the porn industry as well as this manga was Ikenai Otoko. So kudos to that too!

Aw, this is the best manga I've read so far when it comes inter-linked stories. It touched and squeezed my heart many times. I laughed and felt lonely. I'm not really a fan of collection of one shots and inter-linked stories mangas AND reversible couples since I don't like older men as the seme (I'm sucker of older ukes! HNGGHH!), but REALLY! This one is an exception. This one is worth-reading. Try it!

And if you're wondering who ended up as the uke and seme in the final chapter....
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
It was the older uke and younger seme~ YEY!

Though things like declarations of love never really happened, it just shows what gay men really are in reality. Even if they're gays, they are still men afterall so things like saying and expressing romantic feelings (often or properly) isn't really their thing.

UGH! I WANT A SEQUEL! OR AT LEAST ONE MORE EXTRA CHAPTER!

I have to admit, when I first decided to read this manga and there were only 2 chapters scanlated in English, I certainly felt a bit clueless as to what direction the story was going to head into, considering how no main couple was introduced for those 2 whole chapters, except a vague moment at the end of chapter 2. Now that I've finished the manga, I can positively say that this is one of the most genius thing I've read in a long time. It is exactly that somewhat unorthodox approach in storytelling that helps build up the hype for the main story, because the author had skilfully introduced bit by bit little details to reveal more and more about the main couple, while still writing very interesting stories about characters related to them along the way.

And that's not even remotely the only thing I love about this manga. Not only is the storytelling excellent, the contents are also very enjoyable and you can't help but fall in love with all the characters in the end. This might not be your usual romantic boy x boy context and it's not like the main couple acts all lovey-dovey with each other, but that certainly didn't prevent me from going 'aww' when the characters do show their affections towards another. In fact, their kind of love is totally different from the norm that it's only appropriate for them to have such 'odd' ways of loving each other, and I can't deny how heartbroken and moved I was while reading.

Also, love the wit of this mangaka. I like how the AV industry and especially yakuza themes were still presented but toned down a bit through witty dialogues to prevent the manga from turning depressing or heavy. Instead it's a light read with depth, which is not easy at all. And the way she draws is both cute and hilarious, kinda reminds me of Aniya Yuiji's art style.

There are still a lot of things I could go on about, but I don't want to end up writing an essay here, so to put it briefly, go read this manga immediately because you can't get much better materials to read than this. It's one of those few BL mangas related to the AV industry that I could enjoy, let alone love.

I think this read is like layered cake, each subsequent chapter delves a little deeper into the background surrounding the two mains. It feels like unwrapping a present at times; each time you see a slightly different perspective of the characters.

I'm not usually into older men, but this read is truly satiating. The scenes and mains are pretty hot, unf. Reading all the way to the end was a liberating feeling as well. This is one of the few rare reads that's given me a fulfilling, satiating feeling at the end.

Haruko Sensei's art that makes the read not so heavy-handed, albeit the dark themes embedded in the read - GV industry, the yakuza. I love the art, I love the characters. There's truly nothing I can complain about (: And I like how the mangaka has tried something different this time round, from her usual light-hearted works.
