Should've taken the tragedy tag seriously

I'm not entirely sure how to feel right now. The last story ended on a positive note which rounded up the manga nicely, but I still can't shake off this miserable state of mind out of my head. There's a melancholic vibe overshadowing both stories that's a bit too much for me precisely because it's so abstract and hard to grasp. If it was something more concrete perhaps I would not have have fallen so moody reading this. But then again, that might have been the mangaka's intention all along, in which case she more than excelled at her job and I gotta give her props.

While the art work is a bit sketchy and confusing at places, still the story does lot to make up for it. The story, rather stories, I should say, are unconventional within the broader shounen ai genre. What I particularly love about this is the gentleness with which the stories are treated all the while maintaining a foreboding undercurrent. The bittersweet after taste is also something unexpected, and thus all the more poignant for me. Besides, I am a sap for these types of stories.
I was reminded of this other manga, a one shot with the same premise but infinitely better art, which for the life of me, and no lack of trying, I can’t remember or find.
Just for the first story, I would give it a 10, but overall I feel that the other stories aren’t up to par.
