Blurbs(?) of Book 2&3
by kichiX

Rating: 8.0  / 10.0
Unlike other Chinese webnovels which I've read, this story uses the three books into which is it broken like traditional print media. That is to say, that each book reads more like a book in a trilogy (most similar, I would say, to The Inheritance series). It is far removed from the likes of Desolate Era, say, where each book functions almost like a chapter. I've written a blurb(?) for books two and three if anyone cares to read them, solely because I wanted them when I was reading the book...
Book Two;
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
After returning to Chu Beijie's side, Pingting is one more embroiled in plots. Chu Beijie's brother, the king of Dong Lin, is scheming against him; the new Prince Consort of Yun Chang, He Xia, has allied with Bei Mo and their army is stationed by Dong Lin. They promise a peaceful resolution if only Pingting, the woman Chu Beijie loves and treasures above the world itself, is delivered into He Xia's arms. Can Pingting delay He Xia for long enough for Chu Beijie to return from the capital and rescue her?

Book Three
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The famous general Chu Beijie has disappeared and Pingting has been living in peace for many years along with her son. Suddenly war breaks out as He Xia, finally free of all restrains placed on him by his wife, the Queen of Yun Chang, viciously attacks leaving all four countries in up-roar. In the midst of war, can Pingting find reason to step back into the world of armies and find Chu Beijie before all hope of a peaceful life is lost?

As for the story itself, I really liked it. While I am grateful to the translators for allowing non-Chinese readers the ability to read it, the translation itself was not at all smooth and took much away from the enjoyment of reading. That being said, I did enjoy it, and if romance is your kind of jam, I would recommend (but don't expect high-quality writing in the English rendition).

A beautiful novel

I have never read the original version as it was written in Chinese, and I am the worst Chinese student ever haha. But i did read this novel in Vietnamese and English. And i thought the novel was beautifully written (or at least beautifully translated). If you wonder about the novel but not sure if you want to read it, i suggest reading the manga version first (it is unfinished but it will introduce you to the story). The manga left out a lot of details that make many people confused (haha someone even thought she was a prostitute), but it is still beautiful. So go read this novel or elllseeee...
And i agree with the other comment, the english version didnt do a very good job with the translation (when compare to the vietnamese one), it is getting better. I really do hope they finish the novel.. *sign* i do wish i was able to read the original version... curse my young self for not paying attention in chinese class!!

I appreciate every scanlator's efforts including Chinatown KM however their rendition has much detail lost in translation. I've read its original language and enjoyed it more.

The story is about a purge gone wrong where our main character is separated from her group then caught by slavers and sold. Shes a brilliant strategist and tactician with quite a playful prankster side too. After she has been sold, her music skills catch the eye of a mysterious handsome man.

The story is a short read and very cute but lacks the kind of detail one expects from a novel. The author rarely delves indepthly into each character's thoughts or emotions and when she does I find it sorely lacking. I still recommend it with an 8/10 but perhaps this novel can be best appreciated with a more thorough translation.

So far is interesting to read, i like the female lead character. typical smart and brave female lead.
Smart, pretty in my opinion, brave and NOT fake biggrin
she's loyal to her master too.
i like to read manga or manhua with ancient story. it's like you must solve everything with tactical yet beautiful way.
just love it and the male lead so handsome bigrazz
anyway i recommend this manhua if you have a spare time to read, really enjoyable.
