Even though the series has been going the Shounen route for the last few volumes, I wasn't able to rate this anything lower than 10. The story is great, the art is amazing (The best I have seen for any manga--Just looking at some of the pages in volume 13 gives me goosebumps as to how well they were drawn) and it really is a must-read for any manga fan.

Berserk is a great manga, and a definite reccommend.. However I am worried that the mangaka is gonna kick the bucket before the series is actually finished :/
well berserk is still a great manga but i have to say it really is slow. When i think back, there is still a ton of interesting things to be told but the pace is way too slow to keep interested

I agree with the others. Berserk, if you believe that mangas are not only a mean for entertaining kids, is a masterpiece.
I acknowledge that sometimes it's too slow, some episodes are just put there without a real purpose, but overall it's a great work in every sense.
I'd suggest not to read the spoilers though, as it can be exhausting, since releases are very slow.
Berserk and Blade Of the Immortal, the 2 manga I would suggest for people of any age over 15

Truly epic, although the pace of the story has slowed down much due to the long lapses between releases the other 32 volumes are filled with epicness... great series, full of touching history and good character development. A must read for anyone who is slightly interested.
this is a work of art, it's magnificent perfect wonderful spectacular it amazes me how a mangaka can make something so...
this is my best manga till date, i personally think it's the greatest dark fantasy manga. the anime didn't do this manga any justice but it's still the best. ^_^
Normaly seen I'm not into manga with this amount of bloodshed in it, but Berserk makes the exception: it's been a very very very long time that I've read a manga this good.
Proof of it is that I've started reading the manga yesterday, and right now I'm about to start reading volume 23. I'll probably catch up with the releases (volume 32 at the moment) either this evening or tomorrow.
There's still so much more story left to be told and plot to be revealed. Well I can't say much yet since there's still about 10 volumes I have to go through, but it looks like this manga has got everything it needs to go on in glory for a long long time!

this manga is really good. the story and characters are complex and have a surprising depth. it has a kind of 'lord of the rings' feel to it, though more graphic and without without the ring, i think its the constant journeying. though each of the volumes are really long, the story never slows down and i'm always captivated and wanting to know what'll happen next. this is definitely amongst top five mangas i've read up to this point. i recommend!!!
