Description
A great summer storm has just passed through a small town by the sea. On the silver sands beneath the high azure sky lay scattered the debris washed ashore the previous night. And there is also a surprise awaiting the group of friends gathering curious objects there - a young girl named Chouko. She is local and even though she is not sure what happened to her, she remembers the little sleepy town very well… the way it was over eighty years ago.

Why on earth would she want to go back to war time Japan? They could’ve just looked in the records and found out if her father survived the earthquake. She also could’ve looked herself up and see how her life turned out, and then made a decision about returning or staying. Seems like the most sensible thing for them to do. And if Gramps is the brother, they should tell so that everyone will stop waiting on him and feeling Guilty.
More than meets the eye?

Isn't grandpa Yoshii his long lost brother? The storm must have brought his brother back to the past, but he's unable to return. Like how he knows so much about the past, about time traveling via storms, making the bottle ship and last page, he mentioned to return him his baseball glove!
So bittersweet *sigh*

This is the BEST oneshot that I've read so far. Everything's just so perfect. Kudos to the author for creating such a touching story.
I dislike oneshots because most often the story's shallow. But this one is touching and light. It gives a great after-read feeling. Also, in general, I avoid bittersweet endings because I'd rather not have the bitter part. So I had misgivings when I started this. But boy, was I surprised when I read it.
I hope the author makes a sequel about the missing brother. That he isn't dead and just time-traveled.
The art is quite good. The plot is unique and interesting. The story not overly done.
I HIGHLY recommend that you read this.
