ecchi cover art

It seems like every chapter starts with lewd fan service of the middle school aged female characters. Pretty tasteless.

Story wise is fine. I'm 30 chapters in, and it's a Mirai Nikki-esque phone game battle Royale type thing. Nothing special for this genre, but that's also because pretty much everything in this genre is, for whatever reason, significantly better written than most/ all other genres. So it's good, but I don't see it being special amongst the other death game entries. But again, I'm only 30 chapters in, so it could get better, but the fan service thing is kind of jading my perspective on the rest of it

When i read this many years ago, i thought this was a master piece
Now that ive read this recently, it is most certainly not a masterpiece, howver the story is interesting enough to keep me intrigue.
The main gripes i have with this manga is almost all the female characters fall in love with him, which is so unrealistic, they just have them fall in love with mc after he beats them at a match. Afterwards they are all in love with the mc. If that was removed for something more organic, this would have been much better manga

Also i do not like how quickly the mc gets overpowered, it feels like an isekai at this point. Regardless the story is still interesting, but the characters are so bland

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
did they fuck in chapter 62

Ok after like chapter 70 or so, i just started skimming, the story is okay, but i cringe at the moments whwre they jaack off the mc. For example people say omg ur that dude, ur a legend. Wowzers can i join ur group, u guys are so powerful. For a teen, you are so smart. Hey, i know that ive just met you, but i am gonna trust u 100 percent. I also hate how nearly all the girls are in one way or another infatuated with the mc. If they arent, it doesnt matter, they all exhibit 1 personaliry trait, one is very straight edge and is constantly serious, another is super shy and does not come out their shell, 2 are horny for mc and 1 even tells him he can fuck her. Despite only just meeting him literally a couple of pages ago. This manga is good if you havent read much manga befofre, but if youve read alot, these tropes make it so much harder to read and enjoy

Strong MC. Character development. Little romance, not at all the focus of the plot. A lot of fight scenes: martial arts, super natural abilities, gun fights. Interesting premise and a plot that is unpredictable enough to keep your interest going, even after 90 chapters.

Edited: Updated after 112 - still good. Plot twists and bind bending storylines. Unexpected turns. Still great strong character development. I cannot WAIT FOR ANOTHER CHAPTER AHHHHH

The MC was just a regular high schooler. Through some circumstances, he became involved in a kill-or-be-killed game. In the first few chapters, he can seem a bit whiny, but it *does* get better within 6 chapters or so. He trains to better himself but some of his skills are inborn. He’s a likable MC, with plenty of human traits that are relatable.

The plot is actually pretty complex. 90 chapters in and I can tell you that it’s been taken into a direction I could not have predicted.

Great art.

The only con I can see is a bit too much fan service. Not that that’s going to stop me from reading, mind you.

Very good manga that evolves greatly

This manga's name has Darwin in it and truly it has greatly evolved over the years, going from what seemed to be a basic shounen story to a much more complex thing involving many plots and characters, but all of it done very well. In particular, it unexpectedly breaks off from some of the more boring tropes such as 'not killing people' or 'everybody must be saved' which allowed the manga to progress to a much greater stage.

It is very similar to the Chinese novels Gate of Revelation or Sovereign of Judgment in that it starts off with some death game but quickly turns out into a plot that involves much deeper elements. Just like those two references, the action is very well paced and it manages to stay interesting up to the latest chapters, with a plot that can keep bringing new elements without getting boring.

The character and their powers are amazingly well done, it's especially impressive how the whole cast keeps being meaningful even though new characters are added at every arc, and yet the author doesn't just throw away old characters. The story sometimes branches off into side plots instead that focus on different people, which helps reviving forgotten elements.

It's definitively one of the best mangas in its category, with smart characters, an interesting plot and universe and of course a lot of (and well done) action scenes.

Not Darwinism, but cool Premise and likeable Lead

Darwinism is purely descriptive, not prescriptive.

Anyway, I like the main character. He's kind and smart. I love the art style and the battles. Apart from a few clichés, great characters overall and nice pacing too. As mentioned below, the premise is generic, but well executed.

Looking forward to new chapters.

I'm really enjoying this manga so far. I like the incorporation of those typical game apps into the kill or be killed kind of story. while nothing about this manga strikes me as incredible, it's well executed and I like it's pacing, not just throwing everything at you from the start, but figuring it out and experiencing the aspects of the game. the art is also really good and fitting, though I can't say I'm a big fan of ecchi scenes, but that has been an issue for me, since there's been little of it.
I think this has some potential to be really good, and I hope it continues to get even more exciting.
