All that drama, only to give up and be rescued by the plot armor...
by Koneko_Nyaa

Rating: 6.0  / 10.0
While the last chapter is a happy ending, the bombshell that was dropped in second last chapter somewhat ruined it.

It's honestly quite sad that this story went to a place where it had to be rescued from a tragic end at the last moment by the biggest cop-out in the industry.

The biggest selling point of stories that touch taboos it having the characters overcome adversity and persevere. Simply deleting the taboo at the end after achieving nothing in its presence leaves only disappointment.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
That they were both unhappy cowards willing to live the rest of their lives in suffering and regret until the taboo was magically erased and their relationship now acceptable in the eyes of society... As if it changes EVERYTHING...

They both knew that they were destined soulmates that'd only ever be happy together, but their feelings were not enough when being judged by others. They were not willing to overcome obstacles. Yet after obtaining the legendary plot armor, they can finally be all they were meant to be...
The dude's biological parents were heroes that were able to fight for their happiness even without the legendary plot armor. They were unfortunately not able to pass on their courage to their spineless son. Neither was the badass adoptive dad able to pass on his strength to his daughter.

The so-called 'friends' who drove them apart developing a conscience at the 11th hour...
The mother who condemned both her children to eternal suffering has a change of heart thanks to the legendary plot armor...
Yet no-one ever offered an apology for all the hardship they caused simply because of their ignorance.

The dad who was able to save his precious children by delivering the legendary plot armor even after his death is the hero here. (though arguably originally the villain for hoarding it for so long).

incest is not the issue but...

to me the real issue is execution. the coincidences felt too unnatural and forced. don't get me wrong, the art is beautiful and i love the whole idea of forbidden love. ai is very adorable but sometimes she could be so painfully stupid and way too ditzy. yuzuru is too perfect and unrealistic. the love triangle is cringey and cliche. gave it a 6 because the art was so beautiful (although ai looks more like a baby than a woman)

A really nice tale of forbidden love, but...

Turns out that Yuzuru is adopted so him and Ai aren't blood related. It would be nice to see more stories with actual incest that end happily. It's an interesting taboo to cover. Only ever seen a few do it.

Still a nice story though. Ai is one of the cutest protagonist I've ever seen.

A highly uneven yet also engaging melodrama

The review section may be minefield but manga itself is nearly as out of control. The presented coincidences are beyond logic and the last second revaluation is kind of more bonkers then actually following the incest narrative to the logical end. Wow! The art is polished and i have to admit that the author occasionally managed to hit a few home runs so i stuck around but Koi Kaze (8/10) this isn´t.

I agree that the 1s in the ratings are mostly from incest hating people. To appreciate this manga you have to keep an open mind. Although the story is generic, but the art is just that much awesome. IF YOU ARE AN INCEST HATER, DO NOT READ THIS, because incest is one thing that takes this manga, in my view, from an average 6 to 9-10. But if you are OK with such stuff, then try it. You will die of cuteness in just first chapter.

Angsty but not surprising

I honestly loved this series but the last 2 chapters pretty much made me laugh.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The mangaka waited until the second to last chapter to reveal they're not blood related, so I was thinking they actually were. I don't care either way, but I know some people will be bothered by this. Anyway, the biggest reveal was that Yuzuru's parents were actual siblings. Seriously, if the manga was ok with that why didn't she bother just making Yuzuru and Ai related?

This was still a very enjoyable series. I loved the angst.

Yes, an incest manga! Yes I am well aware how "cliché" this manga is, for example, the annoying heroine, love triangle, the angst, etc.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Especially when he "dated" a girl to try and forget her, seriously I felt like there was not much effort in the end from trying to stay away from his sis as they in the end accepted their love. But then again, he has a stronger desire to be close rather than push her away. I just face palm myself
But I'm sorry, I can't help it! I love this series so much. If this was a non-incest manga, then I would have still read it (due to the male lead, for some reason I adore him), but not love it as much as I do now.

I am just going to keep it short. Don't have any problem with incest in manga even though in actual shoujo, it is rarely done right in my opinion and i don't think this series has done it right either. The art is really pretty. I love it. I love the art in sensei's previous work "Hana ni Kedamono" but seriously, sensei has a way of writing really annoying heroine... that crying, whining gee man... ignore the incest and just treat it like a normal boy girl story it is still meh.

There just so much frustration going on with the story progression. I am still semi reading it, half the time I think I just browse through the art rather than actually fixating my brain to the dialogue LOL

So yeah, huzzah for the art but for now, meh to the story with or without incest.

As far as incest goes I'm not a fan unless it's Romantica Clock, but this is okay. The art is good, though. People are so fussy with the incest. If you don't want it don't read it. I usually only go for incest in yaoi because yaoi is not real and already full of unhealthy relationships.

A mashup of generic stuff for a blah story.

I love reading incest in manga, but I couldn't read past the first few chapters.

The story is a mashup of everything the mangaka could possibly think of that would draw readers with no originality at all. The brother is like the perfect shoujo prince (corny as heck) and he squeezes out all these cheesy lines like nothing. There's nothing else to him except being the stand-in for main girl's heartthrob. The main girl is (annoyingly) cute, clumsy, and a has a brother complex and she drinks her brother's cheesy lines in like it's nothing. They're in love because, well, the mangaka says they're in love and their love is supposedly stronger than anything. They're siblings, but there's no angst or inner conflict.

I was so excited going into this, but the story gives you nothing! I mean, I even love cliches and the typical stories, but this manga is something my sister would write (she's awful at it) except that this mangaka is a professional and should be able to come up with something just a little better (give the characters some personality if you're just going to rehash an overused plotline!). I feel so bad for shitting on this story because it's seriously not this bad. It's not, really. It's just...a waste of time.
