Something definitely got lost in translation here, and the dialogues seem disjoint most of the times. The length of it is problematic, with too many characters and too many subjects resurfacing now and then, without earning the proper closure (or development).

Plot-wise, I can't tell any more what the story was about: was it the overcoming of a woman's low self-esteem regarding her dream job, the boy's lack of enthusiasm for life in general, or--what began to be the premise--a beautiful woman on the train and the boy who falls in love with her. If the manga had been longer and better executed, I think we could've had all of these and more. As it is, however, it is quite messy and a little disappointing.

I didn't care for the ending, but the art was good.

a little strange...but refreshing for a josei

the dialogue can be a little muddled and the theme a bit complicated for such a short piece, but I think hidaka-sensei did well. the overarching theme ended up being ambition and career over romance, but it's execution was a bit awkward, i wish it had just stayed with romance lol. or at least have the characters not get together at all and just simply grow from their meeting with each other.

i COMPLETELY appreciated how the manga wasn't apologetic about mizuki's actions. he wasn't ill-intentioned, but he was being a nosy creep. i'm so glad tamako called him out for being gross and didn't relent and forgive him later. and i'm so glad mizuki realized his actions were bad. so many other shoujos and some joseis backtrack and make the heroine feel all guilty for making the male lead sad with her accusations. like, no. he was wrong and that's that.

please write more josei (and BL) hidaka sensei!

I know the manga-ka is well-known for her BL series it's always interesting to see authors branch off into new stories/chars. Although no one has updated this for eh, 1.5+ years?

Oh well, I guess someday. Maybe.

I gave it a 10 because...

This gets a 10 because I really enjoyed what little (and I do mean little) there was of it was fun. It didn't seem groundbreaking, but it did seem like it would have a story that was at least a better rendition of what everyone else always does. And really, that's all I wanted.

I wish there was more of this, but it hasn't been added to by the author or anyone in like a year. Hopefully there will be more. I would definitely read it. I am off to try to find something kind of like this, now.

Wow! I love this. Even though only 1 chapter is translated to English, I can already tell it has good potential.

One interesting thing about this manga is that it is refreshing for the mangaka, who has always done Yaoi. But I've always loved her art style, and this manga is no exception! Hidaka Shoko always draws handsome males, so that is expected, but I love how she draws women. As a reader of Hidaka Shoko's other works, I'm glad to see here delve into other genres and I believe she has done a fantastic job.

I personally find age gaps to be engaging in manga, so this story has caught my eye. It's exciting to anticipate how Hidaka Shoko plans to develop the romance. I will definitely follow this story! smile

Now, I don't read a lot of josei, and the only reason I picked this was because Hidako Shoko wrote/drew it- and I'm a big fan of her yaoi ;D But I have to say, I'm not disappointed at all so far! She has really clean, beautiful art that's still somehow unique, and she draws people's thinking faces, melancholy faces... just expressions in general very, very well. She's really good at developing relationships and characters, too. This seems promising- it started off in the guy's perspective, which was interesting, and I feel like I'm already sort of familiar with the characters- not that they're shallow enough to understand quickly, but they seem like real people, if you know what I mean. I'm probably writing most of this based on the future, haha, since I've only read what, half a chapter? That's all that's scanlated now, but you know, I'm hopeful for more. I really hope this is scanlated quickly! I can't wait to read more... I'll definitely update this review once that happens. biggrin
