Saburo, a new doctor, met a man in downtown Susukino, Sapporo. Saburo sees the life of a fierce doctor in Tetsuro Kokubu, who has suddenly disappeared after having shown great promise for the future due to his competence at a university hospital.
The gekiga contains nine heart-wrenching arcs including "The End of Snow," which depicts the past of Kokubu, who established a small clinic in a backstreet of Shinjuku and is called "Dr. Kumahige" by the residents of the town.

I like this story because it's really complete even though the chapters are episodic. We see the life of a man who is a doctor. But he is first a human being with his own strength and imperfection. Each character has his own weight in the story.
I laughed, I got angry, I cried and I thought while I was reading. This is a masterpiece and a real demonstration of what a real slice of life is (ngl, situations are not always usual but it's okay)
So it's a 9/10 for me
