To call this a good series feels like a lie. There are issues of r*pe and grooming and other stuff. The entire premise of this series is just... wow.

However i could not drop this series. Its like stupidly addicting. Its a short series. You can check it out for yourself.

This manga is great for a mindless binge-read in the middle of the night. Don't read this if you are here for the story. If you're down for guilty pleasure/dirty chic lit, then this manga will be great.

I personally liked the fashion in this manga. The dresses were gorgeous, and i wish i could wear them. The smut scenes were great too.

It gets a 10/10 for what it aimed to be: cheap comic porn for horny girls.
But if you asked me how I feel about it as a manga on its own? It's not too great. Lots of badly done cliches, too much melodrama, and illogical scenes.

Still, it's better than Gold (FUJITA Kazuko) .

Despite some draggy parts in the middle, this manga is a good read overall. I really love the male lead (Jake) and adore his love for the female lead. Relieved that's a happy ending

I hoped for a nice and partly cruel revenge story and the beginning is promising. But then the first fail, the flashback story, introducing everybody and everything, takes way too long with lots of unnecessary details that drags it until I only flipped through the panels until the school story was over.
I chose a Josei manga to esp. not read about school, students and their cliche problems.

However it has a lot of nice turns, (bad ones too). Remains over all predictable. The revenge story arc was very much to my taste. 8.5 points for that. Some things backfired or didnt work out which is good because it makes it more real.
But it was too short, too little and not desperate enough.
I wonder whether the past story was actually longer, as the Silver revenge story was often interrupted. Unfortunately.

The second love interest, namely Jake, annoyed me quite often. He is supposed to be blind (can differ light from dark though), but he doesnt behave much like that at all. If he isnt Daredevil, then its just ridiculous how he moves through unknown terrain. Second fail.

As closer to the end as cheesier it got but in a way that imo doesnt fit a revenge story.
The smut was very nicely done, worth to check it out for it.

When skipping the past story arc Id re-read again, some years later.

When I first started to read this story I was skeptical about it.. But now that it's done I'm happily surprised in how entertaining it was. Only thing that threw me off was that the artistry seemed a bit sloppy to me..

Yes I'm glad I gave it a try even though there are negative comments ! If you're a josei lover I'm pretty sure you'll like this too. Personally I read it whole in one night as I couldn't stop reading !!!!

The drawing is okay, pretty pure and old fashioned. The rhythm keeps you tense all along. The characters are quite profound in a sense they act accordingly to what you can expect from then but being at the same time really complex so that you can be surprised. And it's the whole story that is like that : you can't mistake it for anything but a josei although I'm not sure there are any similar story already existing.

When I first read the premise, I avoided this series because I hate needless drama. But still, people kept recommending this to me, so I figured, why not give it a shot? Hahaha. Ha. No.

I knew that I would have to endure a couple chapters of soppy back story before the protagonist gets a backbone, but really? 20 chapters? Completely unnecessary. The author could have easily settled it in less than half that amount. Basically, the whole first bit was the girl being a dumbass. Honestly, when . It might just be me being a bitch, but seriously. She has a lot of issues. I don't even know why I bothered. I normally steer clear of anything even close to resembling this melodramaramarama. The revenge bit is (marginally) better, but still headache-inducing. I don't know, I just can't bring myself to finish this. Maybe I'll try again when I feel less rant-y.

Excuse me, then. I need to go detox from the sloppy mess that is this manga. Good day.

after reading this i went and also bought the novel.. at first i didn't expect i like it but then i end up love it.. the novel is a little different but the overall it still carries out the main plot of the story.. this is one of my favorite..

Like all the "adapted from English-language novel" mangas, this is very soap-opera-y so don't expect too much.

The josei tag is a bit misleading--yeah, it's slightly josei but it has a load of shoujo cliches on the count that it's a dime-store romance novel adaption. It's got revenge, a beautiful female lead, a tragic past, rich people, smut, misunderstandings, lost loves and a brooding male lead. I personally didn't find the story so bad but it went on a lot longer than it should have. The manga-ka could have easily ended this with around 30 chapters.

But if it's raining and you're looking for some guilty pleasure manga, then I would seriously say read this. If you're not into soap-operay situations, I would steer clear.

This is my first review but don't take it lightly. Without saying any spoilers, I will get to the point - this series was a total disappointment. The revenge part of it was cool, but poorly executed. The author took way too long to explicate the character's past. When I read this, I thought : "It's set in a fictional world that imitates Europe, so forgive its unrealistic aspects". Oh, but there are many. What coincidences there are in this manga are way too unlikely and cliche. The plot is hugely subjugated in favor of sex, and believe me, there are many sex scenes. Plot hole after plot hole, I found it hard to sympathize with any of the characters. Oh, why can't it have an ending like Hamlet!? With only Bridey living and telling the story. Haha...no
I only recommend this if you want to see some smut with an over-dramatic plot. The art was pretty interesting though, despite being dated and whatnot.
P.S. Get this, the author also has a series called "Gold"...pfft
