It seemed like it was going to be a more mature shoujo manga.. Which I like, but it wasn't at all. Still a cute read though. Very handsome artwork.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I wished the start set a more exciting pace with the rest of the story. But it turned into a cutsieamga instead. Which isn't all that bad. In most mangas it turns dramatic for very stupid reasons, but this one definitely shows that even when there are obstacles they really truly don't care for them, and love each other deeply. Wish there was more to the ending though. I've said it before in another review (manga) not very "mafia like" though.

Romantic shoujo with unique setting

Well, if you like romantic shoujos then you should read this I think.
It really pretty usual stuff for shoujo but setting is somewhat unique, like the characters which are actually in love triangles, and even leads, well characters wise they are like in many other shoujos, but the story has a uniqueness to it, as it is combines some stuff which usually doesn't come together, as male lead is actually considered scary mafia boss boy rather than handsome bishounen...

Mediocre but satisfying

This Manga was not at all bad, but it wasnt all that great either. I remember trying to read it a year back, but stopped somewhere in the middle and completley forgot about it. Which by the way is big for me. Because I always remember the Mangas I read if they are interesting enough. And obviously this wasn't. It still didnt catch my eye. But i saw Possessive Lover in the genre so I decided to give it a chance. Honestly the beginning was great it really showed promise for a hard core, possessive mafia romance. But wait this isn't a Mayu manga -.- and I was getting more and more bored as the series went on. I mean really? Last time I checked this is a MAFIA so therefore anyone that gets in your way is dead or atleast severly maimed. And it especially counts with someone elses girl. I mean come on how many guys have hit on Ayano, and Kagura just let them walk away. I mean if this was some other manga written by someone with knowledge of how mafia's work then Im pretty sure 'Sensei' would have been dead on maimed, the mom would have gotten cussed out or lavished severly until she complys and Fujioka terminated. But alas it seems the author is too sweet and kind hearted to write such things in. Which is not a bad thing. But just a warning, this fic is in no way hardcore, and hardly has any possessiveness going on except for the occasional douche bag that trys and gets him jealous. Read the story if you like harmless guys in the mafia with a cute romance on the side. If you want a more harcore mafia romance then I suggest reading Haou Airen.

Not the most interesting manga ever but the characters were just so cute! you cant help but love them (especially kagura!) I also really liked the story line. Although it wasn't the most interesting it was entertaining and kept my attention. Plus the art was gorgeous! I absolutely LOVED the art. I would recommend this manga for anyone who is bored. It's a good light read and enjoyable if you don't look for too much.

I almost enjoyed reading this last comment as much as the manga itself bigrazz
If you ever read this, whateverrandomloser, I have to tell you I burst out laughing reading it. Seriously.
Not in a bad way though, because you make some very good points. Some things need to be said, so it's great you said them. BUT I'm so sorry to disappoint you, I actually liked this manga. The lines were cheesy, but the english translation was good. I've read translations where I don't even understand what the characters are supposed to be saying. And about the cliches, they're getting boring for me too, but sometimes I still like it if I don't pay too much attention. And I guess pretty much everyone feels the same things when they're in love, so it's hard to express that in a million different ways. I don't know how I would make them show their feelings if I had to make up characters.

Anyway, in this series, I do think that the rescuing of the female protagonist happened just a little too often; it ended up undermining the credibility that is already not that wonderful in classic shoujo stories.

One thing I liked was that the characters didn't let others come in between them, talked to each other in stead of making a big dramatic fuss about a tiny misunderstanding, and really held onto each other.
And the story also gets a big big plus for the absolutely fantastic art. I enjoy just looking at every page, and end up taking a much longer time to read it than something with average art, because I just keep staring at the drawings bigrazz

You have to be prepared to read something rather unrealistic, and not all that original. But it's cute enough that I still enjoyed it, and I kiss the ground the mangaka walks on for the incredible art O_O (except for those beak-like noses in profile maybe...)

Three Letters: WTF

I've seen several shoujo mangas that are written like this and I have been bearing it for a long time now. Seriously, what is wrong with the translations? I can't even understand it! There aren't much convention errors and there's really nothing to complain about the art (besides how their noses are drawn in side views) but---ARG!!! I am soooo frustrated right now, so excuse me if my words may seem rather confusing.

(what actually triggered my bad mood first was probably because I wasted my time watching this stupid movie which just spitted out nothing but nonsense and the plot doesn't even HAVE a purpose, adding the fact that it's so cloudy and soaky today outside, and my brother's BLABBERING attempt on reexplaining what the fuck just happened to the movie, however, his words were just full of "its", "they" and "because" using non-specific terms! thus I am here today hoping that reading some manga would calm my frustrations back to at least 30%, but unfortunately, I made a wrong decision since reading this manga further increased my anger instead of doing the other way around.)

Anyway, that's how I got to this current mood. But enough of my blabberings and back to the story. As much as I don't want to waste my precious time complaining some shit-talk here, I just HAD to say this out loud to y'all people:
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE DIALOGUES?!?!!
So I read this manga in mangafox and here's an example of how the main girl talk:
"C...Could it be...I...with Kagura...already...?", and "Just now when he spoke...was it because of me...? Is it really like that...?", and "Just now this matter...", or "I was the only with such a hot-head."
Okay, can ANYBODY understand now my fucking point? It's not about understanding what they mean (of course I know what they are trying to say! D:<). What I am pissed at the most were the tones and the INCOMPLETE sentences as well as the grammar errors! Just listen to the last line I mentioned: "I was the only with such a hot-head" It's found on chapter 1 page 44, mangafox website. It makes me feel that the authors are just wasting their time writing some of those types of dialogues because it CLEARLY has no point in being said! DX

In addition, I am fucking tired with the constant "(OMFG) How can this happen?", or "What do you mean blah blah blah...?", or "What should I do?", "Could it be that he wants to kiss me again?" or the never-ending, OVERUSED "Why is my heart beating so fast?" THE HELL WITH YOUR MESSED-UP HEART!!! The reason why your heart is beating so fast is because you have a heart tumor! DUH!! Jesus...Most of the questions they ask are so obvious or just repeating something that is already said or done to the point where it became super ANNOYING!!! I mean--COME ON!! And the heroine's lines in this manga always usually include "even though", "even if", "even" craps SO REPETITIVELY. WTF!!!!!!!! GAHH!!!!
I don't know if it's the mangaka's fault for being so darn stupid, or the english translator for being so darn bad in english. Nevertheless, I can't help but think that I can write way better dialogues than that!!!!

*deep breath...* Gaining my seft-awareness back in 3...2...1...

Oh, the joy of thinking, "If only I can speak, understand, and write Jappanese...the manga scrips or the character discussion would've had cooler, deeper, and non-cliche/cheesy/dorky lines." I'm sorry if I offended translators or mangakas out there who had never done the same thing. Personally, I am very thankful that you guys show us your awesome work and effort. It's just me involuntarily becoming so like those perfectionists who only see the negative sides of people's work and providing major critiques instead of complements. I guess it's because I've read too many mangas nowadays that the turn-offs of these graphic novels are gradually becoming clearer to see. If I am an amateur manga reader, then MAYBE I would've thought mangas with cheezy, OVERUSED lines are PERFECT.

Fluffy, cute, but nothing new or exciting. The fact that there was a new romantic rival in almost every chapter was kind of annoying, but all in all, not a bad read. Just...not a very interesting or enthralling one.

I did get a giggle or two out of it, though, if only at some of the ridiculous predictability bigrazz

Cute, the art is good too. The review seems like it would be like some mushy shoujo mangas, but in fact it is not. The characters are all cute, but I don't really like the girl - the crybaby one but yeah could be strong sometimes.
But the fact that the guy was feared by the whole school is kind of illogical. Well there must have been some girls who were not scared of him and admired him (like Ayano herself) but the mangaka showed it less.

After all, it's quite good. There are many mangas which are still worse than this.

Why is this mature? O.o
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
They never did it. Kagura explained what really happened.

Even though from what i've read of AIKAWA Saki's another works, (she's cliched and doesn't make her characters look different.) This was actually enjoyable. it got annoying how Ayano got downgraded to "Damsel in distess" And i didn't like the tongue kissing. But Kagura was an great guy and i like how he's protective of Ayano in an Good way. if you want something an bit different from her, at least give this an try.
