Description
Bathed in fame, authority, assets... the noble family of Kyoto Haginokouji. Seiya-sama, the next head of the family, has just reached the age of 16 and still goes to high school. With anachronistic family customs, he can't stand having to keep his life a secret. His sole ally? The handsome level-headed Takakura Yoshiki. He plays the role of the Haginokouji family's young and skillful private secretary. But when it comes to his young master's childish antics, he melts on the spot...!

I really wasn't sure if i should read this or not.. im not a fan of the mangaka per-say nor did the story synopsis really appeal to me much, but i gave it a shot. Have to say im somewhat surprised. It was better than i'd hoped and the art style looks great. Characters are somewhat appealing, though at this point in time have not had time to develop much. Overall it really looked rather promising, so its very sad that it was never able to be finished.
Ridiculous plot

I don't understand why this manga's been given such high ranks. I agree with @thismomentisfate about the uke. SO WHYY WHYYY am I seeing such high praises?? Is it because of the art? Well of course it's beautiful but come on~ the story was DREADFUL! The ending was a cliffhanger

Like what happened after Takakuya was holding Seiya?? What happened to that snake? AND I dont wanna bring religion into this but out of all the animal forms a God could take, why a snake? Doesnt that contradict the meaning behind being the "God"? and holy shit why would he freaking rape a 16 year old. I agree when Seiya concluded the "God" just wanting to have fun with his body. But what disappointed me was he only realized it ONLY in the end. What a stupid character. He was so wrapped into becoming independent from his family's traditions that he was guilable enough to be taken in by that creepy priest. Also, what was the POINT in mentioning Seiya's "unknown older brother" into the story if they just planned on ending it with a picture shown? RIDICULOUS! TRULY RIDICULOUS! I seriously regret reading this.
What disappoints me the most, was the lack of development on Seriya and Takakuya's relationship. No, my mistake it wasnt even a "lack" there was NO development at all! Zero! Zitch! Nadaaa!!! I mean, firstly, were they even inlove?? Cause the author made it look like they were from the 1st chapter! More importantly, as the story went on it just led to AND ENDED with Seiya being done by the "God". It was more like Takakuya was an extra.. like (who cares about that character kinda extra). Seriously though, in the first chapter it was implied that Takakuya was more than just Seiya's caretaker (lover!!) If not then this story is seriously messed up..not clarifying it to the readers.
Were the raitings 10 because of the sex? I seriously hope I'm wrong cause who in their right mind would enjoy reading a snake entering some guy's behind!. My, so frustrating..especially the ending. It just got a "huh??" from me.
I seriously want to rate this a negative. But I'm giving the art a point. What a waste of BEAUTIFUL art by Tohjoh Asami. I'm glad the author's different. Tohjoh Asami's works dont compare to this at all. What disappoints me the most, was the lack of development on Seriya and Takakuya's relationship. This is one of the best magical yaoi I have ever read. Even with the sudden end that is no end at all due to the sad passing of an incredible artist, this story I still highly recommend. Fan-fiction perhaps could conclude this? ^_^
It's very well written, not only the plotting, the character interaction, the delivery and the dialogue, but right down to the small details, like Seiya being called the 'White Chrysanthemum'. I giggled at the classical Japanese literature reference. Very nice! It made me happy.
The story is as much a conversation about the old and new ways and the value of each; as it is about the personal paths of Seiya and Takakura as both find their places and their hearts.
Even with the huge age difference--Takakura is twice Seiya's age--I found their 'best friend' relationship deeply moving and excitingly believable for the potential it carried.
There are some typos with the scanlation: "Every' when it should be "ever" or "have" instead of "gave" that gave me pause, and one during the Great God's taking of Seiya that was quite jarring, but overall the scanlation was done with beautiful phrasing and clean pages.
And the sex scene in the Shinto cleansing ritual with the Great God? Dear lords. I have never been so completely enthralled. It was breathtaking--the art--and the way it went down, I almost felt like I was being overpowered by my own sensations, swept along just like Seiya. My stomach was in knots from the art of Akizuki-sensei's words and Tohjoh-sensei's wisely selected illustration moments! They just rushed together and came out something dynamic and alive!
What a engaging mystery!
I can't really say anymore about the story, since it had a lot of twist and turns and future plot developments that I'm sure it was suppose to be at least 2 volumes. Please do read it though, for the scenes that we do have available are absolutely stirring to the imagination--like a tempest stir!

The artwork is absolutely fantastic; that's usual for Asami Tohjoh. The story started with a decent structure, storyline developing gradually. However it just kind of stops.

The photo of the second son and then no explanation as to why. I believe the authors could have taken the story so much further -not a series per se- but perhaps an extra volume or two. Regardless, really well done! <3 ^-^

just plain creepy, and why in the world is the uke such a wimp? i know that he is up against a (spoiler) a god but i mean come on dont just lie there whimpering, fight! the whole manga is about the uke being sexually molested by these two perverted guys (the god, and some other dude thats into touching the uke when he is sleeping, what a low and pathetic jerk) up to the last frame literally the uke is being raped while the main guy is forced to watch. it doesnt even have a conclusion.

i hope someone with Toujou Asami-sensei's caliber would finish this series >.<; it's foundation is very well layed out in the first volume, begging for a contination in its storyline....unfortunately, i don't know when that would happen. great art, nice plot set up...

For the art alone I gave this a 9, the art is really beautiful, as far as the storyline goes though i'm still undecided about my rating, I need to read more. I hope the mangaka finds another artist for the series and continues (asami sensei died) as this is too interesting to drop!.

It was rather well-done and oozed of sensuality. And the storyline was not too shoddy either. Too bad TOHJOH Asami passed away... I wonder if they'll get someone else to restart the series.
