Drawings were cute and the story was fun, but after a while it felt like it was going in circles and went on a little longer than it should have

Title is the review basically - overall, I would say to read it. It’s funny and unique, I do think it’s as real as it’s gonna get for it’s premise so not terribly ridiculous (but not exactly ‘this totally happens,’ ya know). It’s fun for the first, I dunno at this point anymore, 40 to 50-ish chapters? That’s a lot of fun though, considering this series has a total of 70 chapters. The problem was all the dumb barriers and contrived reasons why they couldn’t just suck it up and be together sooner. We had enough plot without dragging it on.
I am also not sure if I like where it went with the FL’s friend from college.

It’s beyond obvious that Tooru had feelings for Minato. Zero reason why you’d date an exact clone of step-sibling. So, as a reader, this was about Minato realizing her feelings. I appreciated her struggling with her feeling toward her step-brother, but I found her a little dense in not exploring how weird it is that her step-brother is basically into a clone of her and coming to the realization quicker.

Pretty good I'd say

You know what my whole post is a spoiler well if you really consider it one not that you need a spoiler for this
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
my overall issue is the barriers they both set up against each other, it's fairly obvious from the start Tooru has feelings for Minato you dont date someone that looks identically like your step sister unless your trying to find a replacement for them. Minato had some other feelings for tooru as I cant believe the shock of seeing him like that would cause such a significant effect on her unless she had deeper feelings than she thought. But I love and hate how fast things wrapped up, once they accept they loved each other everyone around them accepts the relationship with no resistance even when they themselves were expecting it. Almost feels like they wasted chapters on them worrying about it, so looking back at these characters they really had no barriers except the ones they made themselves to over come
and that kinda irritates me a little.Egotistical protagonist

Sorry, not my cup of tea... A woman who lies to her brother and makes him fall more and more in love, makes him "proof" his commitment with expensives gifts, is "in luv" with another guy, ahhh but she does "feels bad about it"... I really don't know if he knows she is his sister but I do know she is an egotistical, egocentric, insensitive woman, really surprised this is the first negative comment, had to stop after the second volume of the same
How to let the mangaka benefit

AndyProk, if you truly want the mangaka to benefit, as we all do the mangaka of our favorite series' then you should buy the original when it becomes available in your region, since if there aren't enough sales the series will get axed. However, since the publisher gets most of the sales profits, if you truly want the mangaka to benefit, send him/her a direct donation with a letter of encouragement telling him/her what it's for, that you like the series, etc.

The siblings' romance (not their personalities) is a lot like Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Novel) with the roles reversed. Essentially, the premise is that were closer when they were younger, but the little brother started to act cold (and also, sleep around with random women... but in a self-abandoning sort of way, not feeling anything for them) toward his sister, the protagonist. She formed a bad opinion of him in return, and stopped trying to interact with him. But then one day by chance, she discovered an unusual side to him, which triggered them reconnecting. Just like in Oreimo, there's a lot of subtle characterization (like the protagonist's obsession with cleanliness) which makes you realize there's a hidden aspect to the siblings' history.
It's gold up through volume 3. The pacing is especially impressive in volumes 1 and 2. The romantic interactions are so cute and endearing, defying cliches and continually surprising you. It's impressive how the romance can be serious and engaging without ever feeling melodramatic. I mean, there's incest (not the kind that's played for laughs), secret identities, love triangles, but no melodrama...? I compared it to Oreimo, but it has none of the relationship angst that Oreimo exhibited at times. All I can say is that I'm so glad I read this manga.
The pacing has slowed down in recent chapters, though. Side characters have been more prominent, and the author is arranging for various characters to clash. I have faith that the author will let it take the story somewhere positive, but I have to say I prefer the earlier rapid and refreshing developments to these typical "build up to forceful resolution" style developments. Because the protagonist ends up being more indecisive and making more stupid decisions to facilitate that. She's usually smart and proactive (and cute!). Anyway, I expect the series to wrap up in a few more volumes, unless the story expands in scope (I hope it does! I'd like to see more happy flirting, but I fear the rest of the manga will just consist of resolving the main relationship...). To be clear, the manga remains very enjoyable.

My heart actually fluttered a few times. After years of reading shoujo, it's hard for a manga to accomplish that feat for me. There have been manga about step siblings/fauxest love but I really like how the author made this one very unique and by taking a different angle. Not only is the romance between the otp is being developed, the heroine has to avoid getting caught by Tooru and everyone around her. Her web of lies tangles with reality as she has to juggles a double life.
The heroine's character is well developed and Tooru's character feels deep; his character will not be fully developed until a secret is revealed. The author is slowly unwrapping his personality and past.
Here's my theory about that secret: Tooru fell in love with the heroine when they were kids and so when he had to be her step brother in middle school, he forced himself to distance away from her to maintain traditional expectations and started his womanizing ways to distract himself from her. (His somewhat early onset of sexual activity was probably spurred by the frustrations he had to endure while living with the one he likes.) So when he met someone who looks like her, it's like he just got his wish granted. He doesn't have to worry about being a brother to the one he likes anymore.
This is a very interesting and unique shoujo.

Drawings are pretty and very bright, the expressions of the characters are cute and nice too. The plot is okay, but it keeps you reading and wanting to know more of what's going to happen

This manga's story develops slowly but promising. It has a good phase, will get you hooked up for more. It gets more and more interesting. Even though the ending is kind of obvious, but will get you wondering 'how' it goes instead.
Just finished the latest uploaded chap in chinese(ch 29), the most exciting one so far imo, since the real main chars' relationship is finally starting to change

I like all the characters Minato, Tooru, and the other guy. I am not a fan of step sibling romances, but this is cute. It is not ecchi, nor does it have that famous "we aren't really related so it is ok" line. Instead it is a story about a lie gone wrong and on too long.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The main character does struggle with many issues including falling in love with her step sibling. Minato actually is upset about the idea that she loves Tooru.
I am not sure how the Mangka will end this series with out it being super cliche, but it will be fun to find out. So if you like funny, slice of life shoujo then this is a good series to read. Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I actually agree with most and think that the name means that he knows it is Minato and that Mina is a fake. I also think he got the apt so they could be together with out it being like they were siblings.
