OK Series

The series is average, not great. With that said, plot is good, character development was below average, and ending was rushed. It was a boring read at one point, the games, however, did not disappoint and in fact, flawless. I won't give spoilers, but I will say if readers like a good ending, they're not going to get one.

Bad Ending

I don't know if had to be axed or something like that but it was quite good up until the end and then it just skips the match that is the whole point of the series, and it;s kinda annoying. But otherwise it's an okay manga, it didn't seem to have anything special about it.

Fun fist ark

I actually only read the manga up to chapter 27 and their defeat by Fujiwara that marks the end of the first ark. Wasn't particularly interested in seeing the inevitable training and small victories then defeat of Fujiwara (or judging by other comments, the ambiguous and rushed end that noone quite understands). I definitely recommend the first arc, though, if other readers are like me, they might discontinue at that point. It has good art, a cliched but inspirational story and a fairly good cast. It also sticks to a fairly realistic approach- no comic special techniques or overly melodramatic/aggressive styles, so it is a fun read.

Weak plot. Weak characters. Good art.

The games were cool and such....

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Well, i just think that the ending meant that it doesn't really matter if they won, if they are together enjoying moments. I Didn't liked it. The whole stuff were about beating fujiwara, and we don't even know if they did it or not.

this manga is pretty cool..i laughed so much when ogata kept being misunderstood as a pervert..i kinda think they lost in the end but i say they won so the ending wouldn't be so bitter bigrazz
and i laughed at some of the notes of the editor from SCX-Scans....u are funny

EDIT: ok...this is funny....i just started reading Kuroko no Basuke(Basket) and there is a team that uses old martial arts...the Nanba-run...on ch.20

Standard shounen with a few bright moments.

It's all pretty clichéd. But I like shounen-sports, so it's cool. It had a few moments that bumped the rating up a notch or two, though. Be aware that the ending is abrupt, so if you can't stomach that...

i actually enjoyed this series.
the art was nice,
and the story was killer. [sorta]

though you feel like you skipped a bunch of chapters at the end,
it was still very enjoyable.(:

it would have been an automatic thumbs up if it didnt rush.
but all in all it was one of the good shounens. (:

&&the details in the games are amazing.
makes you want to play basketball yourself. ♥♥~

The ending was soooooo freaking abrupt, there has to be a sequel because there were too many things that were left midway, like them winning the finals in the championships, etc etc

After I read the last chapter, I had to go back and see if I'd skipped over a bunch of chapters (I hadn't): the ending was so abrupt and left so much up in the air that I felt like I'd missed half a dozen chapters somewhere. sad

Late in the series, the mangaka adds two new characters and gets so wrapped up in their story that the rest of the story just gets pushed into the background for the rest of the series. The final chapter didn't feel like a real ending, but more like an omake chapter tacked on to fill out the last volume.

To me, this series needs five or ten more chapters to finish up the story properly; as it is right now, I wouldn't see much point to a sequel.
