Description
From Viz:
Being a teenage martial artist isn't easy, especially for Ranma Saotome, who went through a major transformation on a training mission with his father. After an accidental dunk into a legendary cursed spring in China, Ranma now changes into a girl every time he's splashed with cold water. That would be enough to complicate anyone's life, even without the arranged fiancée who doesn't like him (or says she doesn't) and the constant stream of rivals and suitors for both his male and female forms. What's a half-guy, half-girl to do?

A product of it's time *Completed*

Well it took a long marathon to get through all this as it had been a loong time since I read it.
As my title says this is a product of its time and very repetitive. It's basically the same 8 or 9 jokes over 400 chapters to a point that reading too many chapters over time really highlights its faults.

This series is also clearly axed as it doesn't really have an ending per say and leaves alot of the side stuff unfinished. One of my main issues is alot of the secondary characters are terrible awful people whom shouldn't have a partner. I mean Ryouta gets a GF and he still chases after Akane.

Another issue is the moment the series has a serious moment it's usually within 2-4 panels turned into a joke. There was a few moments where I was shocked(Or invested) what happened but then 2-4 panels later I'd be disappointed that it was suddenly turned into a gag.

So I close with a 5/10 cause it ends kinda bad and overly repetitive with no real overall story. It's as close as you can get to a combat slice of life series lol

A Classic

Back in the day this was the first manga series I ever read, so to this day it kind of has a special place for me. I can acknowledge that there's some issues with this series, namely that the situations/comedy gets pretty repetitive and there's not much of an overall plot if you care about that. However I find Ranma to be quite a funny series, and most of the time the action is quite well done. Rumiko Takahashi always did a good job making likable characters as well and Ranma is no exception, I found myself quite liking nearly everyone in the cast.

One thing I will say, skip the anime. They completely ignore some of the best story arcs in the manga (like Herb, Mint and Lime) for stupid romcom situations, and besides that the anime just comes across as shoddily done to me.

This manga is a classic, fun to read, memorable, what more to say? The series is absolutely unique for the gender bending and martial arts, oh and the papa panda bear. Just that it is too long.

Can't Finish

This is a good manga, it's just...the female lead kinda bothers me; this is why there's no rating. The story is fun and exciting, from what I've read, and many wonderful characters. Like P-chan~! Some things get repeated over and not much of a plot to began with.
When I first started, I was laughing my bottom off. But, barely a fourth way through, I'm just tired of this story. Maybe I will come back and pick up on it again. I like the art really much since it's from the same creator of InuYasha.
Humor is a bit of the same (harassing the male lead {which is why I got tired of it}), and gender differences.

For those that can get pass this stuff, or just want a laugh and a lot of time, go ahead and read this. I'm just not one of them.

Just too hilarious biggrin. This is one of my fav/ manga. There are many ridiculous scenes, which makes me love it actually. No character development, but, well, after all, the main purpose of this manga is humour. It's still a great manga, deserve my 10!

I love this series. Even though people may say it has flaws, who is perfect. I reread it every once in a while, and I don't really mind the length. If you have time, like Takashi's work, and enjoy comedy with a gender bender twist, I suggest your try this out. I think you may really enjoy it!

It starts off very funny with an original plot, but it quickly starts recycling into the same again and again. I tried reading this in one go but really couldn't. I guess it's an OK read if you take your time, though.

I don't really like this manga. The first volume is fine but I soon found out that all other volumes are the same. It really lacks character development and the martial arts bit is only for comedy. It never made me laugh and then I realized that I was forcing myself to read it. I liked the original idea and I usually love long mangas but since it wasn't getting anywhere I dropped it about halfway.

i have to say, that this manga was very well done, funny most of the time and the and the drama.... well cant say there was realyl any since each time there was one it turns into to something funny.

cant say that it had a nice ending in both anime and manga but the manga has a better conclusion than the anime. Well to tell u the truth i like the ending cause it is cool to be able to change gender, u can do perverted shit and will never get caught. well i like gender bender manga such as those.

nice manga though, worth watching twice

The only really bad thing here is the lenght, but is't Rumiko so it's no surpise. Anyway I love this manga, the characters are extremely original, the humor brilliant, and the art fits the story soo well. You are never bored, at least not for the 25 first books. xD After that it gets a bit repetevtive, but not enough to make you quit the series.

If you are looking for a good laugh, this is the manga you are looking for. :3
