I'd wager it'd be a manga about a guy with early onset dementia and Alzheimers.

Seriously, this guy has a mind break every single chapter. He keeps getting possessed by ghosts of himself, recovering repressed memory, losing repressed memory, erratically switching from a chickenshit pure love gynophobe to a player who has sex with random people; and this isn't even accompanied by some kind of memory loss or trigger. He just randomly changes personalities for no reason and I'm about as surprised that his girlfriend still loves him, as I am that he hasn't been admitted to an asylum.

This was a waste of my time.

I usually enjoy stories where time is blurred and the past and present end up mixing, but this manga was just not done well. The genre is pretty hard to pull off, and this mangaka showed us why. The whole thing was so... erratic...and so abrupt. The flow/plot SUCKED.

Yeah... I didn't really like this story at all.

I just had to drop this, it was too much. The story has the potential to be wonderful but unfortunately it's just not carried out well. The story is too quick, too jumpy, and needs way more explanation. The highlight of it was probably the best friend. Ahh it's really disappointing because the story could be amazing if it was just handled better.

I found the series annoying.. with all the sudden "oh i'm going blind" "Wait I dont actually love you" and etc.... Honestly I get that their love at first correlates to the original story of the genji prince, but everything is just so unrealistic and serves no true purpose. For example, throughout the series Hazuki would suddenly revert to acting like the Genji Prince, and would forget about his actions afterwards. His actions during that time would be what the prince does in the original tale----yadi yeadi yeah.... but what's the point of all that?

Every conflict also last no more than 2-3 chapters each---and that gets pretty annoying too. Honestly, I could've read the first 6 chapters and then skipped to the last two and still understand what the story is about.

I can't believe I wasted my time on this. I'm pretty disappointed.

At first its a little bit confusing but quite quickly sorts itself out. Overall its pretty nice, not a lot of action or excitement though so I can understand how some might not enjoy it all that much. I feel its a bit a little bit mislabeled, it's described a smut but there very little of that in there and what there is happens to be mostly during the first few chapters. Have to say I thought it was very well drawn, the art is brilliant and the story, though slow at times, is also very good. I rather enjoyed it though I admit i would have liked a faster pace and a bit more excitement. Still, very nice romance overall

At first it started to confuse me because you couldn't tell who was who because hikaru sometimes pretends to be hazuki so it was confusing and you couldn't tell when they change but towards the end it became more clear. it was kinda exaggerated at some parts and very fast, it was kinda like reading a textbook and nothing really excited you. I personally liked the happy ending it was cute.

Although this manga is great because it takes unusual plot, but still, it has some conditions which aren't explained clearly. Those conditions made me confuse, and I dropped it. To kill my curiousity I read the ending, and of course I didn't understand -__- and 7 volumes for me is too many

I felt bad for Murasaki, although she was with a player and still kind of happy about it.

yeah it was really dramatic its like everything was against them and sometimes its just unbearable to read.. and yeah sometimes it can be annoying!

and how one misunderstanding can lead to somekind of another sob story.. another thing that disturbed me is the fact that Hazuki cries as much as Shuu which is a lot! i dont have anything against boys crying, i mean theyre also humans, but thats just gay dude! and yeah.. i really hate it when they dont talk about their problems! i mean.. they just cry over it and then they kiss.. and how many times do they have to pass by each other without knowing! i mean cmon!



at first i was really wrestling with the fact that Genji is a fictional character so he wouldnt have a soul that will give him the ability to be reincarnated.. but it was explained in the end so plus points for that!~!

and also i just LOVE Hiroshi!~! and also the curly haired guy XD and also Kyuutarou! wish she would make a series about him.. so cute <3

so Hiroshi pretty much saved this thing.

i was literally confused the whole time while reading.
but i somehow really liked it.

genji (hikaru) was an ass.
i don't understand how murasaki coped with his cheating. how sad ={

I was excited to read this because it sounded so unique, but a little ways in a noticed an unpleasant recurring theme that lasted until the very end that also happens to be my pet peeve: every five pages a misunderstanding would take place, and the (modern day) female lead would hate the male lead, then it would get cleared up and then they'd be lovey-dovey again. Every five pages, for seven volumes. I just couldn't take it.
The reason I kept reading this is I enjoyed the parts (flashbacks of a sort) about Genji; putting whether or not they are historically accurate aside, I found those parts very enjoyable.
I would say the story (minus my previously mentioned grievance) is decent but not particularly memorable. I definitely think there was a great deal of unused potential. The art is not "typical" but not breathtaking either; it's beautiful where the artist tries, but it's a style that when it's rushed it really shows and isn't pleasant to look at.
My final comment is that l felt like the... intention of the series changed from the first volume to the last; the basic premise ceases to exist halfway through. His "fear" of women-- the shaking-- only lasts a couple chapters and bears no real effect on the plot. It is not even a "curse" as the synopsis claims. I feel it's somewhat false advertisement.

To summarize, the annoying back and forth relationship due to stupid misunderstandings resulting from various causes, good story with unused potential, and art that averages out with really good panels and really bad ones.
