Great Story; Emotion Conveying Art/Layout

Fabulous plot weaving and great sexy, angry scenes woven with tender scenes from the past. It was very engaging from beginning to end. The emotions were so raw and compelling.
This story is definitely for those yaoi fans who like their characters rough, tough and yet still vulnerable.

This is so far the best manga from this mangaka that i've read, though there were some holes in the story (anyone else feel that there was a bit of a weird time jump between chapter 1 and 2? I almost thought i'd skipped a chapter!). I like the art as always, but i also really liked the characters, the story and their past. However, it was predictable. I knew from the end of chapter 2 what had happened (generally) to lead to where they were at that point in life, and it was confirmed in chapter 8 xD but despite that i enjoyed this a hell of alot.

This manga was more of a serious type one, but it was really good. Granted, I didn't find many cute, loving moments (except for the flashbacks ^_^), but the love was completely believable, and that wasn't what really drove the manga anyway. I think the plot was very well written and paced, and the emotions that the characters had were superb. It definately differed from the usual yaoi. I felt so bad for Tsukasa in the manga, but I think he'll end up being ok now that he's finally free. I also think that the last chapter, the extra, brightened the manga a bit from its dark mood and gave great closure and an opened door leading to happy days.

I really loved this. It was just dark enough, but also filled with tremendous love. I really like this mangaka sometimes I feel she can be a little difficult to understand, but her stories always have strong plots and decent illustrations.

I agree with the other negative reviews. The only thing that I liked about this manga was the art.
But I really had a hard time believing Tsukasa's situation.
Ok - I can understand why Yuuki becomes a 'steed' - because he desperately needs money and he feels guilty about what he did to Tatsuya (supposedly) so long ago.
But why was Tsukasa a steed? I mean, he's whoring himself out to the gym's owner (a skeezy old man - ew) that is supposed to further his career as a fighter - and yet the public couldn't know about the kind of fighting he does else he'd never have a fighting career to begin with? Ok, can someone explain this to me? Am I missing something?
It didn't make sense - I mean, was he in debt to Yakuza? Was he somehow in debt to the owner? WTF? And what kind of martial artist lets himself be raped by various men? I mean, seriously! Tsukasa's story just didn't make sense. If he really wanted money, fame, love that comes with being a world class fighter, why in the WORLD would he subject himself to all of this? I know he's in love with Tatsuya, but come ON.
And Tatsuya isn't that great a guy to being with, which made me wonder why Yuuki would go to such lengths for him - and continue being his 'steed' even when he didn't have to. He's a jerk, actually! What kind of lover would let his man be gang raped? and then the uke thanks him for rescuing him (even though he put them there to begin with??)
I don't know...like I said, the art work is superb, the storyline...lacking.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
The story was very romantic. They really went for the extremes. I think having their names tattooed on each other was really sweet!!! I really favoured the seme's character after that. At first, I felt really bad for him..feeling the way he did all those years. As the story went on, I started to side the uke too! I mean, he went through a whole lot more and everything was for the sake of the seme.
I AM SO SO HAPPY that the seme wasn't the type to have sex with just anyone. Like that incident with Tsukasa, he blatantly refused him. I was mentally patting him for that. I mean, way to go, no? He knows who he wants and only does it with him. I didn't get any "my lust for you was so uncontrollable I had to get it elsewhere" crap! Utter BS dialogue! The things he said were really a plus. Well written character.
Also, Tsukasa was so annoying! Most frustrating third wheel character. I wish the author didn't involve him. Or instead, wrote his character differently instead of some martial-arts wannabe claiming he's in love with Tat-chan. My chest kept tightening everytime people would mistake him as the "gym owner's lover". Grr! And to to think he's getting training from THE "gym owner's lover".
Speaking of the uke, what happened to his knee wasn't actually explained in the end. If he's training Tsukasa wouldn't that mean he's still doing Judo? But wasn't he suppose to stop Judo all together? Oh well. No matter. I got such a sweet ending that I forgot about it. See? my point is..the author wrote such a satisfying ending that you won't even bother to wonder about such things. Anyway, the story was really nice. Excluding Tsukasa of course..so annoying for the nth time--even if he got himself a lover at the end he was such a stain in the story. I was hoping he'd disappear in the middle of it. AND MY RATE EXCLUDES HIM TOO!

I really enjoyed this story and the plot was excellent. I hated tat-chan at the start but as the story progressed i started to warm up to him. It is a good story with plenty of plot and twists and a good end. . this is not one for those who want a cute story though. it has plenty drama and trauma in it. But completely disgusting with Tatsuya letting everyone touch his lover, I mean c'mon thats just sick (especially the wrinkly ugly guy)! On further reflection I am updating this, after reading many yaoi this story isn't that special at all, completely forgettable and you won't miss much by not reading it!. I did have a higher rate for this as it was about 3 years ago I read it, but now i will be lowering my rating as its not that brilliant a story!.

I like this manga cause it's really a heart warming story. It made my heart ache every time i read a chapter and finally made me cry in the last 2 chapters cause I can no longer hold it. For yuuki to give up judo which he really loves just like that for tat-chan is amazing!!
After yatteranaze and cut, this yaoi manga is great and i highly recommend this.

My sanity should not had to suffer for this comment. Alas, I usually finish what I start, otherwise after three pages I was going to drop this.
I will never understand why it has such good rating even though there is absolutely nothing good about this. Not. A. Single. Thing.
