It's awesome

Seriously.
I cannot understand why a handful of people are voting KnT as a manga worth like 1-2 marks/10.
I mean come on! This manga is seriously one of the best out there. If this manga is to be rated 1-2/10, what about the other typical shoujo mangas? -999999/10 ? Wake up and read this manga seriously! Don't judge the whole manga just because of the first few chapters!

And, to all those haters who "claimed" that this is a rip off of Wallfower, god bless you and your how your brain sees both of the mangas.
For the sake of your stupidity, I shall only say it once, but WALLFLOWER and KIMI NI TODOKE is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!
Unlike Wallflower, kimi ni todoke is a very light hearted read. Slow may the romance development be, but it gives off a very pleasant feeling. Just for your information, I liked wallflower, and I would readily give wallflower a 10/10 rating too.
In other words, Wallflower and KnT is 2 completely different mangas,
and it should not been seen as having the same plot. It's just like apples and bananas. They are different, aren't they?

Btw I'm not saying that you cannot hate the manga. But, if you are those kind of people who judge based on a few chapters, you're wrong on this manga. Just freaking persevere and read on. If you still find it boring after reading past volume 2, then I am speechless.

Anyway, one thing I liked about this manga is the heroine's character. She's not like other shoujo manga girls, whose forte is to cry and win over the guy she likes. She admires him from the start, then soon developed feelings for him without noticing. I also liked how the guy starts acting spoilt when the heroine is with other people. Although the guy isn't a bishounen, but... but.. why is it that he sparkles so much?! none

Overall, the plot is very well developed and very new ~ It may be predictable (we all know that the heroine is going to end up with that guy), but it is the process that matters. {Umm seriously, if you say predictable.. then isn't every romance manga predictable?} That aside, the character development for each of the character is great.

Trust me, the 300+ votes for the 10/10 for the manga isn't for show. You have to be willing to sacrifice your time if you want a good read.

not what it used to be

Lately this goes downhill.
It had drama, comedy, sweetness, a goal/plot, simply what a slice-of-life needs. Well it is common, when people get together, that the goal/plot changes into staying together or problems etc.
Now we have close to zero drama, "comedy" that isn't very funny and well repetitive. The plot diminishes, there is no goal anymore, things just happen (christmas, birthdays), with no real change to the situation. Everyone is happy to be together, and shy and... wait isn't this the same as a while ago?
I have seen manga that can run on sweetness and cuteness, this isn't one of them.

My advice:
Read this, stop when you are getting annoyed, because let's face it: it won't get any better.

Once was a typical but good and popular shoujo. It's getting old so look for something new. - 8.5/10

Real

Although everyone accuses it to be slow, I really like the progress (or lack of) that it makes. Every shoujo manga has some slow progress with some girl that cries a lot and is too scared to talk to the guy, yet they move on very quickly. This manga is realistic, some people are just like this (take me for instance). There really are some people out there that are too scared, work hard, aren't good friends with others, but those stories aren't told enough, the right way.
Also, the side characters are amazing, their stories contrast with the leading ones, thus this whole series ends up with different ideas instead of one long one.
In a way, yes, this is your typical shoujo manga, but it's also so much more. You'll never find something as realistic as this. (:

I wish people would stop comparing this to other shoujo (and even shounen, for whatever reason) titles. Creating a completely original story now is harder than it sounds.

Kimi ni Todoke is a cute and refreshing manga. The premise of the story is similar to Wallflower, but the key difference lies with the protagonist's differing personalities. Unlike others in her position, Sawako does not have a traumatic past, and does not keep others at a distance/ignores everyone/emos in a corner. She actually makes an effort to make friends with her peers, one of the nice qualities about her.
Kazehaya is, just as she said, 100% refreshing. He's cute and fully capable of charming the shirt off someone's back, but not in a lewd sense, jeez. It's easy to see why he's popular, and not only for his boyish good looks. xD

It's a somewhat painfully slow romance, but it's worth it. One of those extremely rare shoujo mangas where none of the characters are annoying and I don't want to punch anyone in the face. It's a nice feeling hahah THEIR LOVE IS JUST SO INNOCENT AND CUTE <3 it doesn't have those annoying characters, useless drama, and it's not overly cliched

It's worth reading!

It was one of my favorite mangas ever. It started off cute, and it kept getting better and better but now it's just a little...boring. They make a big deal out of every little thing, and it was fine but now it's just..boring. After a while, you expect the characters to stop being shy around each other, and it has happened, but too slowly. Also, it is the same thing over and over again, and when something major happens, it's only every 10 chapters.

I just think it's about time for it to end.

I love this manga! It isn't the most exciting or world shaking plot-wise but it's one of those clean stories that just makes you feel good and want to be a better person or fall in love too. Kazehaya, the main boy is so refreshingly clean, kind and unprejudiced it's a nice break from all the perverts, delinquents, and internally messy love interests that dominate other romance mangas (although sometimes those can be fun too). The main girl is charming too in her own way, though her character type is a little more common--shy, pure, and unerringly hard working. What I like is that she starts out with nothing (she scares everyone around her and can't communicate at all) and grows from there. All the misunderstandings are a little frustrating sometimes and you just want to yell at them, "Just say it strait! Stop beating around the bush!!" but it doesn't make me like it less, just makes me want them to get through it more. Overall, I'd say this story is wonderful if you're feeling lonely or need something to cheer you up.

This is probably and will continue to be my favorite manga And anime series. All the characters are so adorable and lovable. Sawako and Shouta are made for each other. Even the side characters are entertaining. Can't wait to see what happens next biggrin

One of my favorite shoujo manga

The plot somewhat reminded me of Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge, but they almost have nothing else in common aside from a lead character who's compared to the infamous Japanese horror icon 'Sadako'.

The art is beautiful, none of that excessive use of flowers and sparkly and feminine screentones. The characters are easily likeable, and you can't help but want to read more as their relationships are really interesting. It has a nice balance of light-heartedness and drama and bits of comedy, and to tell the truth I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a j-drama or an anime series.

Recommended for those who want a character-driven story with pretty art, interesting characters, and heart-warming story.

So REAL

This manga, though it is slow, is gripping. Everything about it is so honest, innocent and realistic. It's about imperfect relationships and has pairings of every sort that some of us can relate to : The best friends, the outcast that is understood and accepted by love and the hurt girl that is misunderstood by all. I just love how each is developed, not just focusing on a single character. This manga is about pure love, yet it is also about how sometimes life can change it. All of the characters are refreshing, as none of them are shallow puddles, each showing more and more depth as the story continues.
I can't wait to see how it ends!
