Surprisingly good!

I normally don't really like manwha, mostly because of the art style, but this one totally surprised me- it's fantastic! The art is pretty good, and the characters are amazing. Yoojin is more typical, a very honest, devoted guy, but Seyun is not your quintessential uke. He's strong, mentally tough, incredibly likable, and overall just a great, great character. I also really appreciated the couple's parents. I like how they weren't just portrayed as evil people who try to pry the two apart. They genuinely loved and cared for both characters, and wanted them to be happy. They had their own flaws and problems, too. I love how in such a short story, the mangaka (manwhaka?) was able to give all the characters unique traits and dimensions. And man, the smut scenes- those were pretty good, too, if you know what I mean wink

This comes highly recommended! The characters are all unique, including the parents and side characters. They're all likable and relatable, and it just makes for a great story. It's relatively light, but the emotions and and slight angst and drama make for a more believable read. I loved it ;D

Would have been a 10+ Rating...

I wish there was more BL like this. There were no over the top, strange, cartoonish parts. They reacted to things like fairly normal people, and there was no too-huge deal over them being gay.

The main characters had great chemistry, and I absolutely loved them both. Their personalities go well together and make the story interesting.

Also, the seme wasn't too possessive and the uke could kick some ass! None of that "if you're the bottom, you're a wimp and if you're the top you're a controlling creep" nonsense here! The uke stays strong and the seme is pretty much a great guy.

My only issues are that a) is that their first time is very close to rape. I mean, the one guy could have knocked the other out cold, but he wanted to sleep with him. Nevertheless, it was a bit uncomfortable. After that, things get better, though. And b) maybe a bit too much dialogue. It got a bit busy to read.

So, 10/10. I would have given it more than a 10, but there was that issue I mentioned.

A little confusing

I enjoyed it, but the story seems disjointed. There is a couple of sub-plots that imply those would go somewhere, but didn't. There are some disruptions within the story's time line (for instance, the beginning of ch08 - it doesn't say which minor character died and how, and what he is to Seyun's friend).

It can leave you a sense that there are some chapters missing, but by all accounts, this is all it is. I'm quite sure there is a missing chapter between ch7 and ch8, but who knows?

It's an enjoyable read because of main characters' strong personalities, their interactions and the narration, but the story as a whole seems confusing and, in some places, weak (especially the last three chapters). A shame, really, but I'll certainly keep an eye out for more works from N-Kun/Na Yeri.

Rape Alert

When I read about this here on baka and looked at the tags, I did not see Rape (although later I saw it way down the list when I clicked to see all tags), but it turns out that there is a very prominent rape committed by the seme on the uke (the uke would have liked to make love to the seme, but instead is roughly and harshly fucked for the first time, with no preparation, by him). I don't like rape yaois and I think it's really sad that so many women seem to think violent rape makes for a sexy story, and that it's somehow romantic when it leads to the characters being in love.
In this story, the Seme rapes the uke when he is told that the uke has been doing everyone in school, because he is "driven crazy" by the thought of others touching him. After that he finds out it was just a rumor after all, briefly apologizes and is immediately forgiven by the uke of course. Then they begin their romantic relationship. Bullshit. That is so lame, unromantic, incredibly unhealthy and unsexy.

I was at a loss for words when I went back and read the reviews on here after I read the manga, most of which are claiming that the story is sweet and has a satisfying amount of "angst." Really?
The only thing I liked about this story was the uke. He is a very cool and sexy character despite the fact that he's kind of screwed up, as is everyone else in this sick, disjointed, gritty tale.

Perfect as it is.

People can really have different opinions! The other reviews all talk about this manwa being too short, or too undeveloped, leaving too many loose ends and stuff... but as for me, I loved it, and I think it is perfect as it is.

- The couple is wonderful, they're cute, handsome and very much in love. But they also are full of doubts and fears, just like any other teen would be, especially concerning their parents (so rare in a yaoi manga/manwa that the characters really care about their parents). They have secrets and misunderstandings, they fight and hurt each other but in the end they love each other too much.
- The side-characters are great too. There is the right number of them, they are very characterised, meaning that they all have their own background and feelings, and they are given the right depth. This manwa was not about them, giving them too much time would take it away from the main couple.
- The art is beautiful, although some backgrounds could be more detailed and their facial expressions could be more... well... expressive biggrin
- The plot is deep, thought-provoking and fun, with good sex scenes too.

All in all, one of the best I've ever read.

This manhwa had its moments, and was overall pretty decent, however I don't see how so many people say this is amazing. I assume it's since I've read a pretty substantial amount of yaoi and therefore have higher standards. Anyways, I thought the writing was poor.. and had all these bits and pieces that weren't fully developed or randomly there, and apart from the main couple, I couldn't differentiate between other characters. Had me very confused. This made it feel incomplete or like a draft..And
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
what was up with the ending?! If you can call that an ending..Don't know if this is still incomplete or what but I would like to have seen them graduate/what happens when they do and not just in some bonus 4 panel extra..
Apart from that though its a decent read.

One of the best

This is without a doubt my favorite manhwa. The relationship between Seyun and Yoojin was just so deep and beautiful; the love that brings them together again though both characters have very different outlooks in life. I greatly enjoyed it how both of them had very distinct strong personalities and their own way of handling the situations they find themselves in.

Seyun has kicked major ass on his way to the top of my favorite ukes list. He's beautiful and enticing but strong in both body and will. At the same time, he's very cute. To sum it up, he's awesome! Seyun knows his own mind and isn't easily swayed. I get the feeling that the only one that can make him second guess himself is Yoojin, but that's not because Seyun is submissive, it's because he loves him.

They are equal and Yoojin has his own doubts about where he stands with Seyun. I found his quiet and patient determination to make Seyun his very touching. There is dub-con but Yoojin (unlike so many other offenders in yaoi) takes responsibility - in a very passionate way no less.

The equality translates into the bedroom scenes as well. The passion and pleasure is mutual and it rocks that Seyun is so aggressive as well! (LOL at Seyun getting tips from Sun Choi, that was priceless!)

The supporting cast is very interesting and likeable as well. It's refreshing to see the support of the parents for a change rather than judgement. It was very realistically done. The scene between the two fathers was a definite favorite! The group of friends was great too, I especially loved Sanghul and Jooksuk. Sun Choi was interesting and I wouldn't have minded if his story were explored a little further but it was emotional and moving as it was.

So, I just ordered this from Netcomics to have my own paperback copy cos it's a keeper! I highly recommend this to everyone whether they generally like manhwa or not. The art, plot, characters –everything – is a ten!

I like it very much this part.

ohh you must must read this definitely worth it!!
I give this 10!!

One of the bests!

As soon as Yoojin showed up, I hated him. He was kind, unconscious of Seyun's feelings and dumb. But just a few pages after that, he turned into an amazing seme! Pushy, a little forceful, dominant...and yet still sweet.

And Seyun perfect, just my type of uke. He's not whiny, not weak and even so not irrelevant (like those "ordinary ukes"). He's brave himself, requires our attention and is strong enough.

Okay, so, there are lots of things that I liked:

- First, the sex. It's not too long as to make us tired of it, because it only shows a couple of images, as if the story was told after what happened and the rest was fast forwarded.
- Also, I loved the amount of feelings the characters struggle with. We can almost feel the same as then, because their innerselves are totally developed and they have real conflicts.
- But what I loved at most was how much angst this one had. I totally adore angst! *-*

it was funny, witty, and sexy all in a bundle of great drawings. perhaps it could have gotten further, or perhaps the authour shouldn't have put in a violent side to Seyun...who knows. i know i like it, and the ending was pretty nice. not all things needs to be totally angsty, and this one got close to angst, but never really crossed it, and i was pretty happy about that.

the ending was really funny =3 i loved it to pieces ^^~
