hilarious and witty to the last bit- smut only amplifies the fun ^^ characters are developed enough as well as the plot- and it wasn't cliche (hard to find these days). it makes for an awesome read.
Too sugary

Wow, this was so sweet that I nearly went into a diabetic coma. I was rushing through the last two volumes just trying to get it over with.
The heroine didn't annoy me as much as she could have, but she did have some problems that I would expect someone with "more experience" to be able to handle with more maturity. I guess really what I'm saying is that the mangaka failed to get me to suspend my disbelief.
I did like the guy. He had some high-school boy moments, but for the most part he was actually reasonable. I liked the art. All of the points off were for how sugary this series turned out to be. I really enjoyed the first volume, but I think it might have benefitted from stopping there - at least for me.

Cute, sweet, I'm glad the guy didn't turn out to be just a pansy. Everything was so sex-oriented sometimes. I mean wow. You can't keep your purity with this one, nuh-uh. XD
XD, lol

I love her work, oh man, I was seriously laughing the whole time.. someone even pointed out to me that in some scenes in the back ground you can find the manga-version of the mangaka (that girl fish char. I think in the ep where the guy turns 19...) Come on people waste you time reading this it's too funny and smutty not too.
slightly mindless fun

I downloaded and read this manga as a manga presented it as being a Josei (women's) manga and I wished to explore the demographic.
Ultimately this manga is less like the typical description of a Josei Romance manga (Serious mature exploration of relationships) and more like a Shojo romance manga (Glamourised relationships, romantic values, frequent comic tension) with the addition of somewhat graphic sex scenes (not quite hentai, but in the middle upper limits of sexual depictions in conventional manga) and some lewd humour (the Seaweed Sake trick comes to mind) pushing the recommended reader age up slightly.
A good way to describe it is romantic comedy.
That being said Itadakimasu provides much amusement through akward humour, frequent chibi/super-deformed sequences and odd character interaction.
Amidst the humour and sexuality interesting characters develop as well and you will likely feel you want to see where their paths lead, although the short (4 volumes) story often favours singular gags over actual character growth.
All in all if an open minded (ie not bothered by sexuality as a topic) reader comes to this expecting a light comedic read with a tone of romance they will likely leave impressed.

Itadakimasu is really funny. I just love the chibis that Yoshihara Yuki draws; they're always hysterical. That being said, Itadakimasu got really repetitive really quickly. The girl's a pervert; the boy's an old man at heart. We get it. The other issue I have with it is the love seemed very one-sided. While Ouji does show some signs of genuinely loving Naeko, Naeko rarely (if ever) shows signs of loving Ouji for anything other than his hot young bod.
Despite my low rating for Itadakimasu, I'd still recommend it to people who're looking for a smutty rom-com read. Like I said before, this is super funny; it just has issues with being too long. So, read until you get bored.

Yuki Yoshihara is really a goddess of comical smutty josei mangas. That's the third work I've been reading and so far I enjoyed all. Thank you very much.
Like the other of her mangas: if you're here for the smut then keep moving (try one of Mayu Shinjo's mangas), here is a story about a weird pair full of comedy, romance, some slapstick and also smut (sometimes it comes from nowhere and takes you by surprise ^^") while they struggle (more or less) through their everyday life.
I read for its comedy, the story and chars are nothing deep or serious, pretty silly at times and a bit slushy mushy (but also sexy - somehow she can draw characters so flawless [no matter the perspective] and of high quality). The heroine looked so cute sometimes... and adorable... (yes I'm a woman and yes I'm straight ^^""") and also totally pathetic in SD XD
I don't forgive Yoshihara for cutting Ouji's hair *sulk* (or let me say, for not growing it to what it was before much faster)
BTW, my fave manga from her is Chou yo Hana yo <3 - so if you liked this one because of its slapstick and comedy and romance parts with the little smut try her other works too (read Darling wa Namamono ni Tsuki when you're in the SD stuff, that one has lots of it - heh).

Though it doesn't really progress anywhere. They love each other and want to get married at volume one, and it stays that way for the rest of the manga. Or at least I think so. I didn't bother reading volume 4 (it's all translated by now online).
Sure, it's funny, but even the formula gets dull by the end of the third volume.
Conflict between them, humor, she gets horny, more humor, one of them gets mushy and apologizes, more humor, they have smex, more humor.
Still, 9/10 because the jokes ARE pretty hilarious nonetheless.

This one's such a lady fantasy! It really makes me want a young lover at the ripe age of 19. Ouji is just that much of a dish. He's a mature man in young man's husk, yet has an innocent side. It's really nice to enjoy one of these once in a while since not much smut is catered to girls and it totally acknowledges the fact that girls are just as perverted as boys.
I'm going to be reading more from this mangaka. Thanks..

This whole series was so sweet and so funny I was laughing the whole way through. I enjoyed how the author could make the characters look so cute and so ugly at the same time. I almost wished that it would have continued into their married life.
