Needs Closure...

In truth, I don't feel that this series could of lasted much longer. It had reached a pretty good point to finish things off, but the way the ending was carried out is what makes me a little sad. The 13 and 17 year old difference isn't as big as the story made it to be. It's like a Senior dating a Freshmen, but Kouta still being in Middle School makes a huge difference in my opinion.

Now for the spoiler-ish part to kind of vent what I feel should of happened...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
One of the biggest morals of the story was that a "man doesn't run away." Although Kouta put up a fight, he still got back on the train (although this time he was shoved on). I guess I understand that Natsuki wants Kouta to spend time with his father, since it's an experience she didn't get to experience during her childhood, but I guess I just feel that love should hold no boundaries.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that the ending is still good, it just needs an epilogue to wrap things up. What happens when Kouta and Natsuki meet when Kouta is older? Does she have a boyfriend? Does he have a girlfriend? Have they forgotten each other? I think just seeing them get together one final time would be all the fans need to subside over it.

I understand that this series was discontinued, so one more chapter/epilogue isn't even possible...but I feel that this story could be saved by it.

Anyways, Anedoki is a great series. Just needs more closure on the ending.

Oh, and I'm quite surprised that this manga was by Kawashita Mizuki. I really liked her work in Lilim Kiss, so I guess it isn't much of a surprise that I like this series as well!

this manga by Kawashita Mizuki-sensei is actually good
but maybe the only reason why the fans not gave it many votes because the age gap between the main character and the main heroin...
but i still think that this manga is really good, and really look forward for the new series by Kawashita-sensei

You guys are reading too bloody much into the first 2 chapters. Too bloody much, I tell you.

Then again, this mangaka doesnt like to vary a winning combination.

Also again, maybe this manga will follow a different direction.

EDIT: she did follow a different direction. Oh, sure, the cancellation probably force her to end the manga this way. But, it's not too bad. You got a short period of life where you live with a gorgeous older girl that make your heart go doki! and an annoying younger girl that just pester you. Then you suddenly has to part. Such a sweet bitter, yet warm and loving memory!

I like this much better. IN this kind of genre, in this mangaka style, sometimes short is better than long. A sip is much better than a long draught.

Very Intruiging

After Hatsukoi Limited, I was wondering what would happen to Mizuki Kawashita, since her previous work bombed at WSJ last year. Thankfully, it seems that the editors at Shueisha are giving her another chance.

Ane-Doki seems quite different than I actually imagine, along with the plot and the characters. Speaking of which, the main female protagonist had a much different personality than I thought, which is a plus. Also, I expect to see some fanservice in future chapters (depending on how long it last).

Whether it will be a hit or a miss is up in the airs, but at least make Ane-Doki much longer like Ichigo 100%.

Pretty Average Fare

So I saw that is had an axed ending, but honestly I don't think the series had that much more steam left anyhow. Things were already getting worn thin around chapter 20 and even though some stuff remains a bit unresolved I think the story wraps up the main couple nice enough (even though I would have liked a bit more closure).

However a lot of this manga just comes across as painfully average. Main character being a huge beta that cannot express his feelings, all that kind of stuff. Since this is nice and short I can more easily recommend it, but don't look for anything groundbreaking here. The plot is nearly nonexistent and while the art is good the characters really aren't particularly memorable.

Finally, I honestly don't know why these character like each other. Unless the reason is just "I think they're hot" the manga really doesn't set up much as to actual romantic motivation. I mean this girl is acting very forward to this guy she LITERALLY met on the street less than an hour ago and they barely set up why. Just made the whole thing feel pretty shallow.

Brilliant

First of all, i'd like to address the issue about the ending. The ending did NOT feel rushed at all. Most people who said that the ending was rushed probably reviewed this manga before the "real" ending (chapter 26.5) came out. I agree that if the manga was to end at chapter 26, i would've felt very unsatisfied. Chapter 26.5, however, contains only 4 pages. But they were the four pages of brilliance: it brought every thing back to a full, complete, circle. Although it was a bit ambiguous, it did the magic of wrapping up the manga nicely. If most people got to read those 4 pages, i'm quite positive that the average ranting would've gone up quite a lot.
Overall the manga was a light read. There were no great conflicts, no dramas, no antagonist (there was a weak one for like 2 chapters or so). But it wasn't anywhere near boring. It was fun and kinda cute. 3 hours of reading felt like half an hour. It's definitely an easy read. The art is very nice. The girl is very cute. The age gap never bothered me. The plot wasn't original, but hey, who said every manga has to be super different. The harem didn't bother me (Wasn't much of a harem manga in the first place) The romance was nice too. And the ending, well, as i describe earlier, was great. Definitely worth your time!

I just hope to see her next work soon. I'am amazed by how people are attracted to her work!
I'am a big fan and i don't miss a chance to get the manga when available in my country.
The scan are great for the color page but having both is really great!
Please support Kawashita Mizuki Sensei too!
The ending could not have been better (he is four year younger than Natsuki, he has to grown up isn't it?)
Anyway Domo Arigato for this marvellous work Kawashita Sensei!

. . . A lot of people seem to not realize this, but the series was axed. So yes, the ending was indeed rushed and there were some plotholes left, such as the importance of the imouto's necklace. The few pages in the very end, an omake done when compiling the volumes, which early readers missed, yet wished for, still left much unanswered. Too bad, though; it was a good manga, despite the similarities it had with Ichigo 100%.
