Above average for sure

I had already read Jigoku no Alice so I tried this one. Matsumoto Jiro delivered a solid manga.
user bull3thole wrote down below:
"There are many unnecessary pages in this manga like the debate over the killing law and the war. The discussion of the war is a waste of pages because the author kept on mentioning it and nothing came out of it."
This is unusual and it's exactly one of the things I like about this manga and how this author writes: by giving us pieces of lore every now and then, the world feels credible. The result is we can immerse ourselves in that fully fleshed-out world and yet the outcome of the narration is still unpredictable. (this is also because Kano is mad ofc).
Not 10/10 because like in Jigoku no Alice the end is honestly average and character development / evolution of Kano is left pretty much untouched. Too bad I'm sure the author can do it.

I'd love to read a prequel about Kano's time in the army.

All Time Masterpiece

Every time I reread this I'm left in AWE of how perfectly every element is set up and incorporated together. You may not fully appreciate your first time, but I recommend you come back and give it another read when you're older. Commonplace manga that are written on a weekly basis can't hope to touch Freesia's flawlessly woven tapestry of themes, commentary, and experiences.

I'd rate this among the all time greatest manga ever created alongside Blame!, Berserk, and Nausicaä. Truly exceptional, and I don't make that statement lightly.

Another of Matsumoto's Greatest

I can't deny anything from this author. I love his work. He reminds me of Douman Seiman or Asano Inio. This work sticks with his knack for tragedies. He writes Mental Instability as true to form as I have ever encountered in a manga. It is like a dream-state. Matsumoto's protagonists shows life goes on even when you have mental health issues. You are not a pariah. This protagonist uses his 'issue' as a positive. All of Matsumoto's works I've read captured that feeling to me. I'll get off my soapbox because that's probably not the author's intentions. Even so, it is as clear as day to me.

The story plays out beautifully, but I'll admit it's pretty graphic. Give it a try.

i read this manga quickly, it reminded me of battle royale because each character had his own problems and lead them to make mistakes and get judged by the vengeance act. Its not really fair to compare the two mangas though because the Kano is insane and is just trying to understand the world he's living in. this manga was really memorable though, if you're mature enough to read it. It's also kinda like homonculus, the main character is just confused and trying to adjust but he has a lot of problems and the ending is ambigous but sad.

I like the plot because it was different, along with the insane protagonist, but it eventually got confusing for me. There are many unnecessary pages in this manga like the debate over the killing law and the war. The discussion of the war is a waste of pages because the author kept on mentioning it and nothing came out of it. The discussions were really boring for me and I eventually started to skim them.

I didn't like the ending because it is ambiguous. I agree that this manga is for certain audiences, so you have to read it to find out your taste. Overall, it was good and I like the twist in this manga.

Probably one of the best manga's that I've read. A little creepy with all the mind games but really plays on what is conceivable as reality.
Several plot twists in the story, and while the ending being slightly confusing, once I understood everything, I feel that the entire story was well executed.

its something that you must read in its entirely and understand it to truly appreciate

Hard to give the opinion on this manga because not only it had the original concept story (vengeance using proxy agent), but it also had a unique main character, and realistic story overall, but at the same time, it is not targeted to the mainstream audience in the way that the story being told was too "deep" to some of people that can be labelled as boring or non make any sense at all.

I do find this manga is very intriguing to read. A lot of psycho babble in this manga that actually does make sense if you think about it, and it's true when you apply that sort of thing in the real world.

This manga really doesn't hold any punches, it tells the story as it is...it doesn't shield a particular character from plot armor. Every character you see in this manga have some sort of flaw, and there's no such thing as a black and white / good vs evil setting , only grey area.

If you are not in the right mindset, and doesn't like to think things a lot, then probably you don't like this manga. But if you are like me... you have to read it.

Probably one of the best seinen manga I have ever read. Trully embodied what its like to be in "seinen" genre.

Adversities

Continual adversities, problems, indelible hindrances, negative emotions and the war within as these elements manifest in one form or the other to impede whatever you're willing to do. Some people face that war for the first time while striving hard to live as per their ideals while some succumb in it and die and the successful ones accept themselves and form a harmony.

It's a character driven manga with much emphasis in their portrayal in a scenario fraught with problems to portray those three aspect of life I have written above in a manner (with quaint artwork) that I have never seen in any other manga. They are good but this one is original in its own way
