From all I have read about the manga I just had to try to read. But from the first chapters I completely disappointed - not only the heroine is out of character (she is to wise from one hand and knows too much about the politics but the complete baby who can not make her own decisions too well) and the atmosphere were off. I understand it's the love story but the mangaka miss all the point about the politics and the hole living of the historical period she is drawing about. She can just look into good history books and it'll be not so funny! Or maybe I am just too old for it. But the drawing are pretty.

I have to say this story is pretty addicting. But sometimes it feels slightly repetitive cuz well she's either infiltrating something, or getting caught by some guy...maybe it's just me. But it goes pretty quickly though. And I would give it a higher rating but I can't really explain it but the heroine feels kind of off. And not like the annoying school girl way (thank goodness) but she feels a bit too perfect like both crazy strategist and fighter even though she hasn't been in the world for that long. And she (so not the people surrounding her) seems oddly lucky most of the time (even though she either is put or puts herself in some horrible situation)...well I guess i sort of did explain it.

mmm i've been trying to get into this manga because of all the good comments but....i just dont like the main character, shes a selfish and stupid girl who dosn't care for anyone else but herself... mayb i should read a bit more from ch.2 but so far its not a very nice read for me....

Anatolia story or Red River is my favorite manga. It has lovely art, a lovely story line, and an awesome plot! I love the romance! The only down side to this story is that releases take FOREVER and it is so addictive that it gives you anxiety.

romance, action, suspense in a historical setting with the lead character much more willful than many other shoujo heroines yet also feminine and cute at the same time. this is my favorite manga of all eternity. HANDS DOWN.

The manga has a lot of the qualities that you would see to make it an instant classic. probably a must read for any girl around the age of 15-18. Usually shoujo isnt my cup of tea but it was an enjoyable experience.... one that i dont regret wasting nights reading through the end.

Started out good, but not enough romance. I was totally expecting a lot more of an underlying love story, but it was focused more around politics. I got bored pretty fast. Although I liked the main character. So okay. Personally, I found Kanata Kara to be much better than this manga. For one thing, in Kanata Kara, the author actually took the time to create a language barrier in which the main character had to overcome. In this story, the main character was just able to "magically" overcome the language barrier by kissing a guy. By the time I got to volume ten I just couldn't read this manga anymore because it had become so boring. If you're looking for a historical, adventure, romance then skip this one and read Kanata Kara instead.

This series is one the best shoujo manga I have ever read! After reading the first volume, it compelled me to keep reading, and because the U.S. only translated a volume a month, it was pure torture to know what happened next. This is a MUST READ for all those manga lovers who love shoujo because this is a rose among weeds!

this is great!!!! i loved it even though its shojo and imma boy it still has all the killing and romance i need (lots of killing) anyways it seems like vol 20 is missing many pages to whoever scanlated it, but thanks i cant wait for vols 21-25
