I read a comment here somewhere that this is better than Kare Kano, in my opinion it is not. Reason may be because of the coincident in the plot line. The characters here are breath-taking, but it still lose to Yukino's charm. Oh well, Cat street has been added to one of my favourite fantastic-to-read-but-cannot-be-reread-all-the-time due to it story development.
An extra word: Shuichi rocks! but what happened to the seldom and then disappeared mind connection with Keito and Shuichi?
9/10 since i am a very picky person.

this is a masterpiece, towards the ending, I was unrelenting to let it end... And the el liston at the very last page suits the book very much. Keito will be one of my most memorable character, Kouichi too.
It was awesome

Ah. I can't remember when was the last time I had a huge smile on my face after finishing a manga. ^______^ I read this in one-go. The title did not really give me that much of an impression that's why I'm regretting it now. I missed the fun of getting cliffhanged by each chapter. PFFT.
This is really one of the most touching series I have ever read. KAMIO Youko is such a brilliant mangaka for making this series. The plotline and the story's pace were great. I didn't feel like everything was rushed nor was there a point that it was draggy. The character were perfectly developed. I keep on loving these four characters every single chapter. Youko-sensei is really amazing to have her characters touch the readers' hearts. I'm awed of these four characters are as they try to struggle and cope up with everyday life. Even the minor characters were well-developed too. I thought I'd end up hating Nako but I came to love her and understand that she too is a human who has feelings and insecurities. Even the last couple of antagonists, I've loved them in the end. Heh
And onto the love progressing. That picture up there was totally misleading. HAHAHAH! ^^ Usually love pairings/triangles will be known on the first few chapters but oh boy! the love triangle only came halfway through the story. oh gosh. It's totally unexpected. I mean, cuz seriously, I was basing it from that picture up there. LOL. but I really am satisfied with who she ended up with. I thought they were really perfectly good together.
10/10. There weren't any flaws with this manga. It's just simply amazing.~

Such an incredible series, I almost got teary-eyed when the end was coming. If I could, I'd rate it higher. I just finished reading it, and I can't begin to explain how much I enjoyed this. I thought I loved HYD a lot, but this just surpassed it by SO much.
Just read it NOW

A superb shoujo manga worth anyone's time. Like others have pointed out already, this is destined to be a classic.
It begins with an unique premise as it follows the lifes of four emotionally damaged kids as they struggle to slowly overcome their particular circumstances. Heroine Keito is by far the most scarred, but all for main characters are wonderfully pleasant to follow as they move up and down, discover and learn about love, and find out how to play with the hands they've been dealt.
This manga brought to me so much joy (er, even its darkest parts - they are so well written) that I constantly found myself going back to re-read the last few chapters whenever a new one was released. Very few mangas ever managed that feat.
My only complain is that the whole story feels too short by way of being kinda rushed around the third quarter of the tale. That is, the first half is awesome and unique and the ending is great and very satisfying, but the couple of volumes that bridge those two parts feel rushed, jumping around too much for my tastes.
Even that is a minor complain - I'm still giving this series 10/10, on account of everything else being so good. If it wasn't for this minor flaw, I'd have to give it an 11/10, which would be troublesome.
If you enjoy reading about genuine characters that go beyond the usual stereotypes, and if you like stories that bridge the distance between classic shoujo tropes and more adult josei-like stories - and if you don't mind enjoying some of the most beautiful character renditions ever, then Cat Street is definitely for you.

I've always liked Cat Street and thank A WIllful Muse for completing this project. After reading the ending I bet it'll become a classic when more people get to read it. I hereby salute Kamio-sensei for this great series!

I have to agree with jhalf everytime I see a release my heart ~w~ This has to be one of the best shoujo manga I have read. The characters are interesting, the plot is great and the art is beautiful. I'm not sure if I want to compare HYD and Cat Street but I think Cat Street has a stronger plot.
~
Okay after finishing this I have to say the ending is a little weak. I think that Kamio needs to work on closing her stories :/

Each time A Willful Muse releases a new chapter of Cat Street, my heart misses a beat. I read a lot of mangas but this is one of my favourite of all time. It's not a manga that I read, I like and then I forget, it touches me somewhere deeper inside.

This is by far Kamio-sensei's best work. The plot focuses on the development of characters who are different in some way - who do not fit into the regular social order or schooling system, whether it be because of interest, talent, or personality. The main character spends some time struggling with social interaction because of her isolation with the outside world, and deals with the consequences of her childhood many years after. Her friendships and romantic relationships are not typical of other shoujo series - they are instead realistic portrayals of the effects of time and friendship on one's life.
The ending of this series is very fitting and touching. If you read it, you definitely won't be disappointed.
Also, someone above has a review that is somewhat faulty. This series is nothing like Kare Kano. The characters are not similar and the plot is not similar either. And there is no character named Shuichi.
