If it hadn't been for that horrible ending, I would say that this is probably one of my favorite mangas. However, I thought how that the heroine forgot her family so quickly was pretty wrong. She is also too quick to confess her love for a guy she just met. Despite all that, the drawings were pretty good and Karumi is really cute.

It was only after I finished reading the entire manga online that I noticed this was supposed to be a tragedy. I kind of wish I had seen that before because I probably wouldn't have started reading it. I absolutely hate sad endings. But I suppose its the author's way of saying that their love is eternal, and will remain as pure and untouchable. A kind of love unattainable by anyone else, I guess. The fact that he died still pisses me off regardless though. I wish Mayu Shinjo would write another series bringing him back to life through some weird, inexplainable way and making it a happy ending, since they really are a beautiful couple. That's just wishful thinking though since its supposed to be a tragedy anyway.

I really liked this manga. You see this man was in a world full of darkness and she was his light. And you have to understand that his hole life based on pain and hate, you can see why he would want her to stay with him no mater what. He did alot to get out of the mafia just for her. At times he was not nice but he comes from a world where even you own family is your worst enemy and to trust someone is hard for him. I really cried at the ending. It was interesting reading this manga because all her mangas theres always that happy ending where the characters are alway together. Yea in this one there was that happy ending but I really wasent expecting what happend in the end.

I have read alot of sensei's work in the past and It ALWAYS has a weak female lead that makes me cringe I liked this series at the beginning but when all the *if you've read it you know what i mean, i don't wanna give away the crappy plot for those that wanna read it as spoilers would be bad, but seriously I wish someone had given me some before i started reading this crap* bad stuff starts happening then I GET SO MAD. I had thought for once this one wouldn't end up with the weak *poor pitiful me, i am getting abused but i still love the b*stard* heroin. no wonder i prefer yaoi! and all you other girls out there that moan that yaoi is bad it is alot better than this!!! I stopped reading this at volume 8 as it pissed me off so much but then after a while, i thought id try again and then i seen a spoiler for the ending! all I was thinking was why the hell did i waste my time reading so much if that was gonna be the end. such a waste of time really! And I feel I am being generous with my rating! By the way I did rate this a 10 before I had reached the leilan suicide chapters after that it went totally downhill for me. but this is only my opinions on the series so let yourself decide. edit* i am reading til the end or else I cannot properly rate the series although i stick by my guns with a 6

I just saw the genre for the first time in a long time and it says tragedy.... AHHHH....... What's gonna happen what's gonna happen.... This is like the only Mayu Shinjo manga that I actually sorta pay attention to........ oh well, I have to admit I like tragedies.... Just don't like that they gave away the ending....

Unrealistic to the point if no return.
The whole time I thought 'no one, but really no one would act like _that_'.

When reading this mange, be prepared for a roller-coaster of emotion. You will grow from hate to love to frustration to irritation and more all within a single volume. I'm about to re-read this series and I can't wait to read down memory lane. Even through the 300+ mange that I've read, this one has always stayed at the top of my memory. I will never forget this amazing story.

i personally love this story even though i got a bit sad when Hakuron had to use rape to be able to have Kurini
i personally didn't like Kurimi because she couldn't understand why Hakuron killed her "friend" in the first place. She was going to have her raped and all that and she wanted to die because Hakuron didn't love her. Kurumi is just to tolerent and haves a kind heart she even said sorry to Lei Lan and she was getting two boys to rape her.
But I loved this story and is one of my favorites even though the ending made me cry
PS: pretty ironic how those boys didn't rape her but Kakuron taped that ass when they got home ; )

its pretty dramatic but overall the plot kept me kinda interested ... the lead female is a lil naive while the lead male tries really hard but sometimes fails. looking foward to the next chapter.

A girl who continues to love someone who has hurt her, is a total bleedin' moron. No way around it.
Even if "love" was what was between those two. I gave up after the second chapter, because I just could not take the pathetic, helpless nature of Kurumi.

And how the jekyll can you go along with glorification of the mafia like that? It is unrealistic in the worst way.

i personaly loved this manga, it was great and the reason y he did that stuff to her..-^_^- was cas he thought that was the only way he could keep her with him,, since he thought she diddent lv him anymore :sigh: during vol 4 i was friggin shoutin at the screen for him to just talk to the girl and tell her about his lv: but noooo mister mafia couldent do that!! >_< oh well sad end thoe great manga!!
