Shoujou...

Well it is shoujou, and typical at that, but all the same it's worth reading. The story doesn't drag on and you don't get bored. And the main character isn't some weak, stupid girl nor does she show a "ssugoi" amount of strength -fight on...gambatte!- (should be thankful enough for that).
I like the comedy and intimacy between the two main characters which makes it much more enjoyable to read. The relationship developing between them makes you want to read more.
And last but not least, the art is cute.

The manga is bloody good! It surprises me since the mangaka is actually a man writing a shoujo! The male characters are damn good not some dickheads in other shoujo series

Still not too sure what to think of this manga, there aren't many chapters out yet.
Plot-wise, it's quite cliche - ridiculously popular bishie with a hidden past, girl with no relatives...
However, Motomi Kyousuke has, somehow, pulled it off. I really like that Kurosaki's past seems to be leading up to an unexpected twist - and I'm hoping that it doesn't turn out to be something lame.
However, it's humour made me laugh at most points, and it is a refreshing change. The artwork is better than most. Overall, it's not great, but definitely something you should at least try.

This is my absolute favorite series for the following reasons:
1. Mystery - A lot of mangas try to put a sense of mystery about the main guy because -let's face it- who doesn't love a mysterious guy? But most of the time it ends up being stupid or poorly done and thrown in at the last second. In Dengeki Daisy a huge focus is placed on Daisy's mysterious past with what appears to be (so far) a complex plot line.
2. Humor - I laugh, a lot.
3. A strong protagonist - Teru, despite going through such a huge tragedy, is able to get over it unlike many shoujo protagonists who just cry a lot and assume that since they broke a nail the world is going to end.
4. New spin on a classic shoujo guy - Daisy is ridiculously shoujo. Mysterious, strong, protective guy with a forbidden love? Come on. But a new spin (and some geek factor which I love) is thrust in by making him actually capable with computers.
5. Sweet romance - While I like crazy dramatic smutty soap-opera type manga as much as the next person, it's refreshing to occasionally sit down to a sweet romance. Though most of the "pure romances" tend to piss me off by having a naive girl worshiping the main guy who secretly loves her too. Um, no thanks. Dengeki Daisy is a sweet love that won't bore you to death and I reccomend it to anyone that likes Shoujo.

First up, I was surprised at how spunky the heroine turned out to be... on the first cover I saw of this she looked kind of ditzy so I was pleasantly surprised this was not the case.
Anyways, Teru (as stated before) and Kurosaki are both very likeable and interesting characters and watching the relationship between them unfold is one of the best aspects of this series. As well as that the mystery of Kurosaki's past as well as DAISY's connection with her brother keep the reader intrigued and waiting impatiently for new chapters.
All in all, this is a great shoujo and highly recommended for shoujo fans.

I'm not one who usually checks out the names of the mangaka (unless the story was so awesome), even then, nowadays with the online readers available, i dont usually even give a glance to it. So winternite, you werent the only one who thought the mangaka's a she.
Anyway, to the point, Daisy is a really good read. A tad cliche here and there, but there are points about the story that stand out. The characters as of now are decent. Not really what i'll say fleshed-out but not exactly flat either. The girl's annoying me a little sometimes, but i'm waiting to see how she'll develop. There are certain elements in the story that are not yet explained (though i hope would be) gives allowance for character growth.
Also, the plot seems to be moving along nicely. But there seems to be a risk that it's gonna be rather cliche, so hopefully, that's just an unwarranted worry on my side. Then again, i'm worried that he might try to make it overly complicated which would make the series a huge turn off since there isnt enough elements present for a complex plot. Oh worries.
Still, cute plot, interesting characters, not intense, perfect for the casual read. Do take a look people !

I enjoyed Beast Master, another one of Motomi-sensei's work, so I decided to stalk this particular mangaka. There I was, thinking that (she) could really outdo every shoujo mangaka...Until I found out that Motomi-sensei was a HE.
I know that it's pretty STUPID of me not to know that Kyousuke is a guy's name; back then I was a noob and couldn't tell squat difference between the gender behind the Japanese names.
Anyways, I love the art and the character development. The plotline is new and it leaves quite a memorable aftertaste. In short, it left me wanting for more after the first volume.
I hope to see more of this, and enjoy it just as much as I first read it.

Wow. This is.. amazing. To be honest, when I started reading this manga was expecting it to just be a bunch of fluff, but it's so much more than that. There's actually depth to all the characters; first and foremost, the heroine is an intelligent, mature lead. She isn't just labeled as "smart" but then dumbed down to twist the plot, either. She's very intelligent, and she stays that way regardless of the plot, which is something I've very, very rarely seen in a manga. Furthermore, Teru is emotionally intelligent as well, which is definitely something I've never seen in a manga. She understands when it seems like someone may have a crush on her, and she's equally aware of her own feelings. She's also strong and quirky, and just a wonderful main character.
Kurosaki, on the other hand, is equally, utterly charming. I love him. He's got that necessary bit of mystery to him, and while he's strong he's also vulnerable -- in other words, a normal human being. He's also a worrywart, and that never fails to make me giggle. I really like his bravado in front of Teru, too; it's really adorable.
The side characters are also fantastic; Riku and Kiyoshi make me laugh all the time. Now, starting in Chapter 17, we're also learning more about Souichiro, and he's just as fascinating as the rest of them. Basically, like any shoujo, Dengeki Daisy is a strongly character-driven manga -- but it doesn't disappoint.
The plot is fantastic too. It can make your eyes water, your stomach ache from laughing so hard, and really make you curious as to what motivates each character, what mystery is surrounding them all.
I highly recommend this manga. It acknowledges the stereotypes of shoujo and basically blows them to smithereens. It's wonderfully executed. A one hundred out of ten.

READ THIS MANGA!
I truly do enjoy reading this. It is nice to see the female lead is not selfish and looking for excuses to be crying. She is even self-sacrificing (when it is called for). And unlike many other female leads in a shojo manga, when someone puts doubt into her mind about the people she cares about, she does not do ridiculously stupid things that make the situation worse. (Although she at times does stupid things, but not the kind that makes you wish the female lead would be replaced). Teru at times seems very mature in how she answers about her feelings. She is not out seeking drama in order to move the story forward, which makes this a nice manga to read.
It has a plot where while your reading and enjoying the romance, your wondering about the mystery that surrounds Kurosaki and other things like Teru's brother. (I'll say no more, don't want to spoil anything).
The artwork is nice as well, which is a plus!
It is also quite funny.
I do hope the magaka will keep up all the good work.
