Wild stuff. It's hard too decide it's originality though.

darn good supply of blood and gore. character development is just great. mangaka's a little lazy, but his work allows us to forgive him. now all you have to do is wait until november for more...

This manga can't be liked from the first sight. At first it offers a lot of blood, violence and nudity - typical for an adult manga. But something makes this manga outstanding and different from others. It's not the plot, in which we have people fighting aliens. It's the developing of personalities. We can watch the characters changing all the time. This manga is brutal, because it shows that people can be more cruel than monsters. But it is also the reason why it's so interesting.

at first the fact that a lot of people die is a good thing but when the main character dies it becomes crap. There is almost no character development. Personally i think that the pace of the manga is ridiculously slow (i.e naruto slow).

Well, the first part of the manga is over, and it was amazing. It's one of the best manga ever written. If you don't like it, you suck.

A very good, yet hard to take to manga. The first few volumes really just seem to wallow in its own self-pity, so to speak. But everything picks up a great deal after/during the temple scene. The main character who, at first seems like a sniveling cowardly brat, with nothing in his mind but what's in his pants, but he develops greatly, becoming a character with a lot of personality and depth, bringing along admirable morals and acting with inspriing courage. Tho the artwork is... intense... during pretty much the whole manga, its pretty good alll the same.

The second best manga after Berserk.
An addictive masterpiece.

This is just an incredible manga series. I started by watching the anime and was quickly drawn into the Gantz world. The anime had many short comings especially the ending (the last round after the temple was just stupid) so I started reading the manga.

The character and story development that really gets going after the temple drew me into the series ever more. The lastest developments in the story have had me on the edge my seat. Gantz teams all over the world, cults, the guys in black suits, Kei's brother. The story is continously building towards something bigger but building to what is anybodys guess. You just never know what is going to be thrown at the characters next.

My only complaint is that the author keeps releasing his weekly series no more then 2 chapters a month.

Now listen the only reason i gave it a nine was because it could have been better and it lost some of its edge after iv'e seen it once. Now i had weed to enhance the flavor of the anime and its the only manga ive read besides Berserk how ever it has to be the best fu*kin thing ive seen in a long time but give it about half a year and ill probrably get sick of it, wait about another half a year and start haveing withdrawls from not watching.
