FIRST TIME i cried!
by PinkShippuden

This story had it's happy moments and its sad moments. it was amazing. The relationship between Ayu and Reina became a beautful friendship, and so did the trust between Ayu and her dog. The manga had its Tragic moments, its romantic moments, and its beautiful moments which just leave you with a happy feeling on the inside.

The ending was so sad, it was just very tragic, it brought tears to my eyes...

This is the first ever manga which made me cry... smile

Never fails to make me cry

In this manga, it was tragedy one after another, each one so sad. I cried when reading it. I also have read the other Deep Love stories, but they are not as heartfelt as this one.(since this being the prequel)
Deep Love Host was pretty sad and heartfelt too....but I don't understand how Yoshiyuki met Reina's daughter, Ayu(named after Ayu in this story) i mean, the ending was confusing. Honestly, reading all the Deep Love sequels after this really made me wonder why God is so cruel. It was just stories about the darker world of prostitution and desperation but reading this really made my heart break. I would give a thumbs up for the author, these are really good tragedies. Reading it makes you realize the things you should be thankful for, and to treasure what we have, not seek for more when others might have a more bitter life than you.

It really changed me on what I thought about people, people who sell themselves and how fragile life is. It got me to really cherish my life and how I live it, everything that I do effects the people around me.

Yes. I cried reading this manga, a lot. Yoshiyuki and Ayu are perhaps the most real characters that I have ever read in any manga. It shows the trouble that they go through and how they solve it, and they solve it in a way that a human would.

I have read the Deep Love series, it really brings tears to my eye's every time. Everyone who goes through a hard time... hang in there.

Tragedy one after the other.

A lot of the occurrences seems unrealistic and extremely exaggerated. I've only read Host and Ayu's Story, but I think Ayu's story serves as the most heart-wrenching. I think the only exaggerated part was

Reina's part in this story. I actually had no idea how her kind of personality seemed to be hated either; she came off as a loner before Ayu returned to school. The bullies were just irrational and I couldn't understand how Reina would be put in that situation. Just...ugh.

There's also

all those people dying. I think in this story everything was pretty alright, but there was quite a lot. It did make me mad that Yoshyuki's dad died. I really understood Yoshiyuki by the end of the story though; that contradicting, mixed, conflicted feeling. You want to die, but when you're given that rare chance to live, what do you do...

Pretty good manga, if you're bored, but I don't recommend Host; it just wasn't as good or interesting.

Loved the ending by the way. I just think it was so fitting for Ayu to die. It sounds bad but don't you think so, too?

I can't give it a 10

because it makes me wayyy too depressed... Yes, there should be pain and suffering so you will know love and happiness in return. However, this story ends with such a depressing moment that I just can't let it pass.

I've also read all of the related stories to this one, and only the one about Reina in Deep Love - Reina no Unmei is showing some lights.

It'd be best if you read all of these in a row, so you can be depressed all at once and feel a bit better with Reina's fate.

Nevertheless, the story is very good and compelling.

I can't explain how heartbreaking all these stories were. I can't bring myself to read Pao's story. I wish Yoshiyuki would have done something happy with his life. something that could have summed up to something. But i can understand why he didnt. having everything taken away from him. everything is just so sad.

Depressing...

Granted this had a moderately complicated/dramatic plot line, and ended with something somewhat meaningful, it was still pretty goddang depressing. Don't get me wrong, I usually like stories that are capable of evoking a lot of emotion well, be it tragic or fluffy, but this one just kind of showed me how pathetic people and this world have come to - it just made me sickened and unsatisfied. Then again I'm probably kind of biased being a normal girl, naive and sheltered from up close prostitution and corruption. Despite that it still felt a bit unrealistic because some crazy shizz was going down in the first few chapters...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Wtf everyone was committing suicide and dying. And the bullies! Is it really that common for them to make other people rape you, and then afterwards carve letters onto your body with a knife just because they think you're a whore? They barely even knew her too. C'mon man, that's sick. If this is a common thing, I'm fearful for hope of humanity, or at least high school students.

But all in all, it was fairly unique and I liked some of the character change. Plus it did make me cry a little.
Unsure about what I'd rate this. I think the content is overly explicit but ignoring that, it's still interesting, giving it around an 8.

Saddest manga ever

This is such a beautiful but tragic manga. The author tried to portray the modern sufferings of some people and the ability to hope and try to live your life. Sometimes I wonder what the meaning of living is for and this manga taught me it. I recommend this manga to anyone whether for entertainment reasons or a reason to live life to the fullest extent.

One of the saddest manga series I have ever read. It's amazing how much a manga can affect you. This one really hurt, I grew to love the main character, Ayu, so much. If you like this one, be sure to read the others in the series! They all tie in together, just focusing on one of the different characters.

Fearsome

The un believable amount of masacara that runs down my face everytime I read this manga is horrible. I've never cried at any books movies or nothing and I cried and cried and cried during this. Actually i cry when I think about it. But it's such a fearsome book for this stuff really does happen adn that scares me, second of all it scares me that someone could write such a tragic book. When Ayu was a walking skelaton, when Pou's tongue was cut off, When Reina was capture and kept locked up, Yoshiuki's face when he was told that Ayu died. His face when holding the other dead Ayu..... this is the best and worst manga ive ever read I'll never read it again yet I know i will...
