Characters are simple and straightforward, actual manga is so-so. Nothing wrong with the manga, simple and enjoyable, but nothing to differentiate it from many others.

Don't expect a serious story, just a funny one. The characters are VERY far from being generic, and most of the manga is unpredictable. The mangaka also made (mahou shoujo neko xxx) (I believe) which is a hentai that takes place after this.

Finally found and got the translated versions for both Vol. 1 & 2 (of a 2 volume set).

It's an interesting series-- the story is definately a little different from some of the run of the mill things out there. There is some ecchiness-- "covered" nudity, sexually suggestive scenes, enlarged breasts, etc; but most of it is rather tasteful and there is no sense that this will ever be close to major hentai. The chapters are a bit longer-- 40-50 pages each, but they flow rather well. It has a bit of a forbidden love theme throughout-- Peke is seeking the affections of her master, who doesn't seem willing to reciprocate those feelings, but who knows how it will come out in the end? 2 volumes are released in Japan and they seem to come out in 6 month intervals.

If you like beast girls in any variety, you should take a look. If you don't mind some ecchiness and would like a manga that has an interesting story, it definately doesn't hurt to try it and see if it interests you.
