February 23rd, 20XX.
Looking for a job in the famous TV station at Odaiba, college senior Jin Mishima attended the recruitment orientation. Not far away from the station, Nanako Okano, a gothic lolita trying to attend a concert, found out that her friends tricked her about the concert ticket because of jealousy. The two bumped into each other and "reunited" -- they were junior high classmates -- moments before an earthquake of Richter Scale 8.1 turned the island (the entire city, in fact) into ruins.

predictable, stiff.

I read the first two volumes and was unimpressed. It seems very ... 'stiff'. Every event and solution to the problem follows on just as you'd expect it would given the genre, tone, and plot. That can be done elegantly ... but here it's just dropping the tropes you'd expect.

I think I would have preferred it if emo-chan didn't go through her character development. Sure, she was a ridiculous person, but following that stupid-girl-reluctantly-grows-up-due-to-disaster-thing without any variation and just falling into place as you'd expect ... *yawn*.

I dunno. Maybe I should just stop reading survival manga. I imagine if you actually like these tropes or haven't encountered them much you might like it - though I still think it beats you over the head with them a bit.

Also, the 'let's educate the reader about earthquakes' thing annoys me. Show don't tell.

How exactly is this sci-fi again ?
And yeah, lovable characters, superb art, as atmospheric as it is powerful, and good storytelling. I certainly don't see any reason not to read this.

In comparison with Dragon Head this series is brilliant. It's not only because of art, but also because of characters and more realistic setting. Looking forward to read more chapters.

WOW. This is intense! I have only read four chapters, but I am really impressed. Thus far it is very realistic and it is scary to think that things like this actually do happen. I started this just on a whim, but now I am checking frequently just to see if there is another released! lol. READ IT!

I've only read the first chapter, but I'm hooked. This manga is quite different (and this is a good thing).

I can't wait to read more. The author sounds quite interesting too.
