Description

Daisuke is a 29-year-old private detective with a shady past. Bun is an 18-year-old prostitute with a bleak future. Bun offers to help Daisuke with his investigation, but in return he demands to live at Daisuke's. During his stay, Bun becomes a substitute lover and sleeps with Daisuke in order to alleviate their loneliness. But how long can a relationship last when they're both insisting that it's not love?

Towards the end I was like wtf happened to the ending? I've always thought stories end either happy or tragic. This one ends both ways. It's tragic and happy at the same time. Oh well, they're story continues on Heat (MIYAMOTO Kano). Let's just see what happens then huh?! But still heartbreaking..
I recommend this to all yaoi fans. The story and the characters are well developed. Another yaoi manga that relies on good plot to get you hooked.

If you're looking for high tragedy, it doesn't get much better than this. Not Love traces the beginning, the end and the painful revival of a doomed relationship -- between Daisuke, an ex-cop turned detective, and Bun, a disowned son turned prostitute. What's absolutely amazing about this manga is the pacing -- each chapter chronicles a different stage in their relationship, which is one that lasts through the years. These years see Bun grow up and turn into a jaded, bitter man -- one who has loved and lost, and knows that it is better never to have loved at all.
Miyamoto Kano can always be guaranteed to yield maximum damage with her angst -- it's just that good. It doesn't even matter that the relationship is gay; the fundamental issues are the same for every couple. Insecurity, stifled desire and infidelity are all brought to bear here. It's like watching a train wreck -- it's incredibly painful, and yet you can't look away...
Vintage angst and fabulously expressive art. Don't pass this up, whether you're a yaoi fan or not!
