Its just plain fun!

This manga is just a really good time. Its light not very deep, has some ecchi moments, nice art, cute girls, fun action, some gags, a rough plot, a bit of romance thrown in, likable fun characters. I don't have any serious complaints. Sure a few things are out there and a few characters are over the top, but nothing that should stop your enjoyment.

Some complain that the male lead is just a wimpy otaku, but that's the point. He's not supposed to be the martial arts expert in this series. Mainly its the wide variety of girls that kick butt. If you want a strong male lead read another series. He also has his strong points. He's willing to put his body on the line to protect people, so he's brave in his own way. He's also just a sweet kid and I think that comes across well and the reason why Motoko likes him.

Its a darn shame that the series doesn't have a stronger following (maybe its got too many topless moments). Its also a bummer that the series is ending, I wouldn't have minded it going on a few more volumes. But I guess its better than dragging on too long like some other mangas out there.

Incredibly good manga

This has got to be one of the more interesting mangas that I've read. When I stumbled over this I really just wanted to kill some time with a crappy manga. But I found out that this is an incredibly great manga with a hilarious, goofy, action-packed and simple story-line. Also a part of the split-personality-disorder is actually true. I mean the different personalities (of course) but also the fact that every personalities have their own unique strength, because they know how to work their muscles in a certain way... Anyway enough from Mr. Know-it-all, except for: "Read this manga if you want to read an awesome manga with comedy, action and romance".

as just as surprised that this manga isnt as popular as it should be, stacked hot martial arts chick, lots of violence and gory bits, and no major fanbase, its a shame, i at first thought it would just be packed full of ecchi (and there are lots of ecchi) but the storyline is really good as well as the character development that that aspect can be ignored, you really should read this manga, if you're looking for something action packed, but not too intense with a good, plot, real romantic developments and good characters, and teh fight scenes are totally awesome

I don't get how manga with a plot and artwork like this doesn't make it into the "mainstream" manga lineup what everyone knows about. Honestly, the story is seductive enough to make me completely ignore the ecchi...i couldnt even recognize ecchiness until i saw it in the scanlation credits. ITs definately a good mix of romance (though a bit shallow) and martial arts (girls kicking butt, is there anything greater?). Its a must read if you enjoy good art or a plot.

Very nice art. Good characters and a decent story... It's entertaining. Hardly the best at that it does, but it makes you smile at times despite the clichés. smile

Either way, I recommend it.

Surpassed expectations

I've gotta say, I didn't give this series enough credit when I first read it. After the first two volumes, I thought it was just an excuse to draw naked women fighting ugly muscle bound freaks. Great art and a bit of humor but not much else. Then came volume three and a rough plot started developing around Motoko and her personalities. Since then its been a strong balance of action, drama and comedy.

Be warned though, more than a few characters, situations and story arcs are just out there in terms of believability. Suspend it and this is a great read. Don't and large chunks of this story are just plain silly. It may go without saying but it is particularly difficult in this case because the backdrop to the story grounded in a very realistic environment with normal people drawn exceptionally well.

Just go to show there's never can account for taste.

This manga is very noteworthy in many aspects. The multiple personalities is quite rare to see in manga, and it seem quite deep. Some science parts seem too unbelievable, but then it's manga, suspension of disbelief is a requirement.

The two most interesting aspects are characters and humours. Our hero is a weak boy who grew up in the environment of hero anime, ie typical boy. Still, his character is quite deep and can attract our attentions. the four personalities of the girl are very diverse and distintive. Also, the same can be said for all the other characters. Even the big fat housewife mother of our hero is very interesting in her own right, which tell us something about all of them.

The humour in this manga is dry, sometimes too dark, but always funny in a twisted way. i think a lot of readers who skim ahead got turn off by this. Shrug! Jump ahead and fall into a hole, that's the fact of life for you.

Fact is, this manga is a rare kind. you dont find them much, so dont skip it.

*purely subjective*
So, just to see what I was getting myself into, I read all of chapter 1, and chapter 40 from page 30 on. I don't think I'll be reading this series.

It seemed pretty cool after reading the first chapter, but what happens in Ch 40 was probably the worst thing the mangaka could have done, ignoring the circumstances (since I didn't pay attention to that). As a male, he should be ashamed; I got the distinct impression that he was a masochist >_>
Well, girls and masochists everywhere will be laughing, lolpwnd!, while I will stay the hell away. If you're really intent on reading the whole series, skip the latter part of Chapter 40 if you're squeamish, or get irritated when you witness carelessly....I don't know how to put in the spoiler text, so I'll end it here. It will save you a lot of heartache. (mad propz to LeviathanZr6 for the heads-up)

If you're all about some gratuitous boobs, panty shots, and nudity, this may be your cup of tea. I find that kind of stuff to be boring in general. If its got something to do with the plot, however (only one I can think about is the lolable Yuria 100 Shiki), its not so bad. So, those are my two cents, or something like that.

In mangas, I like plot, 3d characters who aren't all pathetic, some lulz, and good artwork. This manga seems to fit these criteria, so I'd say go for it, keeping my warning in mind.

At the beginning we have the male protagonist who isn't the best looking guy, nor the strongest, but he has a sense of justice and is kind. Though he is practically useless in a fight (that changes later on) he tries anyway, which usually results in a large amount of injury (that unlike other manga doesn't heal right away).
Likable characters, great art, and a nice helping of ecchi/fanservice make this a VERY nice read!
