i'll be strict on this one, because in the end i can't clearly say whether i liked it or not. the art is fine, the chibi forms are very cute and the mangaka can actually draw the characters having several reactions.

i also liked the set of the main story, it seemed promising but here is the thing: i always thought that in a manga world the mangaka shouldn't only draw the main characters and their story. friends, less important characters, whatever should also appear to turn the story realistic. in our case, there are so many side-characters that appear more than the main protagonists and the moment you feel that you follow the romance of the story, a stupid nobody appear to say/do something unnecessary and you almost forget that this is a boy-love story.

another thing is that these side-characters have many (realistic, yes, but) pointless conversations and since most of us read this manga online, it's really bad for the eyes. the moral of this comment is, go buy the paper book and then you may appreciate this manga more.

oh, and another thing i should point out is that the romantic relationship of the main couple is advancing so slow, it would be good to know beforehand that on that aspect it's a bit similar to kimi ni todoke. if you like this manga, you're gonna love demian syndrome.

Unfortunately i'm going to have to be one of the few lower reviewers of this manga so far ^^;.
I liked the art- sketchy and sloppy at times though. However i also found the story to be confusing and sloppy as well.. there were so many flashbacks and times when the character in present would be thinking of something that happened lets say last night, that i would get confused whats past and present. Also each page has many text bubbles and it gets confusing whos text bubble is who.. especially since there is a lot of characters.
Azuma is twisted --i can't seem to like him yet. He's possessive, twisted, not in the right mind, sociopath.. Stop with the weird mind games if you like the guy..Anyways, On the otherhand, i like jou.
And i found the transition from shounen ai to yaoi abrupt. Before it was giving off some school hana-kimi, kare kano sort of vibe where you wouldn't expect anything more than hints of shounen ai lol. The only thing this manga has going for me is the angst in the main couple's relationship. Hopefully the author can make use of its potential.

This is a very very good story. I can't say everyones going to like it - if you came looking specifically for something with yaoi content you might be disappointed, this is basically shounen-ai right up until the later chapters, but i really really recommend it. The characters are extremely unique, they are interesting and drag you into the story with their emotions. Its written extremely well, not a boring moment in sight, yet it doesn't play on huge drama filled moments like many manga, it prefers to be a little more subtle and gentle in its presentation of events. There were many moments where i wanted to bash both Azuma and Jou's heads together though, the whole story would have been non-existant if both those idiots had simply talked and revealed all straight away, but the secrets they keep from each other is what builds their relationship from start to finish. There are ups and downs - lots of them - in their relationship, and its sometimes heart breaking to watch.I hope the rest is scanlated sooner than later bigrazz thoroughly enjoying this. Its slow paced which is a nice change but theres definite if gradual change - i really want to see if Azuma can come to terms with everything.

It's a dramatic and romantic plot with likable or at least always interesting characters, and lots of fascinating background characters as supporting cast. I like the way the story sticks to the two main characters all the way through, with no annoying side plots or secondary couples. The art is insanely good. It's beautiful and you really feel like you too are walking under the trees on the pebbled path. smile I want to know the end!!! It keeps your interest for the so far available bits. I hate boring sections as much as anyone. wink Can't say what will happen with future episodes, though I hear the raws are out, 3/30/11... I think it is THE greatest manga ever written.

At first I didn't want to read it- I don't like angst very much, especially when it revolves around something that doesn't seem very significiant; when the problems dive deep only into a shallow surface. Furthermore, there are few mangas that I truly fall in love with. This manga was amazing, and it did catch my heart in the long run. What I liked most was that, as it is obviously fiction, it could still mix real-world feelings into the book. Raw, real emotions. I love manga because there have been works of art that really explore the human mind and everything else that ties into it that make us who we are as people. If there is anyone who cannot relate, or hasn't felt even an ounce of any of these main characters' feelings, then maybe you wouldn't understand how they feel, and how people can feel in the same situation. When a book can invoke such feelings that one can relate to, you've got a special piece of work. This is no doubt a brilliant work of just a few of the many real mangas out there that has a life of its own in it. I'm keeping up with it by actually downloading it from scantalator's main page instead of waiting for it on manga reading sites. Thank God I can<3 smile

This is a well written emotional rollercoaster. Done so well that the latest scanning group has all sorts of begging going on for the next chapter. It is a think and mull over type of work.

Volume 1 started to be angsty and I like it. There's conflicts and such. There's a depth in the story but as it moves on, it becomes rather cliche as if the conflict was no longer there if not mentioned.

I love this series. It's has everyone wondering what is going on, which always keeps me ready. The downside is that the scanlation seems to have stalled once it changed groups and there have been no releases since May 08 sad I'd like to see how things are going to end.

I remember reading this back in 2008, but then the releases stopped.
This series started out so well. It had good art, an interesting take on the whole childhood friends and dorm thing, appealing side-characters...
Now all there's left is the art.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Their relationship's progression just sucks on all levels.
And either one or the other keeps getting hurt somehow. Don't get me wrong, I'm way into the "injured protagonist" thing, but only as long as it's not dragged to infinity
.

This is very disappointing. I used to love this manga and wait patiently for the releases that came far and few between, but then I just stopped caring. =/

Oh well. Maybe once or if the whole manga is completely scanlated, I'll give it another go, to see if there's something I've missed or forgotten. As things stand, with no apparent resolution in sight, I don't feel like wasting my time.

And seriously, they've got SO MANY PROBLEMS that I don't see how they'll ever be resolved.
I definitely do not root for them as a couple.

It's really interesting (and not stupid). The artwork is great. I can't wait for the next volumes. The only thing I would change is that Takayama has been always hurting himself and staying in a hospital;) Poor guy.
