I have been addicted to this series for so many years and there were times I wondered if the end would live up to my expectations. I'm hoping for an extra chapter but after the many tears in the last few volumes it was satisfying to read such a story and love its characters.

love this one have been waiting to read it after it was finished scanlating since already seen the anime, BUT i noticed that the last volume was almost finished... guess what too bad the group working on this is taking way longer then i thought in releasing the chapters now just finished the latest chapter even though 2nd to the last chapter was out like in June 2013 but still no where to be seen very cruel

i finished reading but got 2 more chapters who knows when they will be out... i expecting the last arc to have things changed like the enemy i thought would turn out to be....



the hell iw this ending it didn't feel like it ended... maybe a 2nd part may come cuz that last chapter and last pages dont make sense to me... i mean it does but the way that ended im just puzzled

i've read this story a few years ago, and i think this story is quite interesting to be read. You know, the story line is good,, and the characters are strong, And more importantly i love natsume,, kyaaa >.< But why this story goes to far, are you think the elementary students can be endure those stupid problems and cruel fate just like that? Oh, come on,, that's silly!! at least, please use the range of age for high school student.

The age of the main characters and the story on the beginning may lead you to think that this manga is aimed for children and until some point it can really be read by those. But, as the story goes on, many sad events begins to happen that I think it's for a more mature audience.
So, if you don't like sad events that will probably make you cry in mangas stop reading it at the Gakuen Festival. I simply love it.
The development of the characters, all of the events that happens even the sad ones makes Gakuen Alice one of my favorites manga.

It was first published in my country.. But the distribution was really slow and in the end i couldn't help myself and went online to read it. I still religiously buy the tankoubon when it came out so no worries. And now I just read it again after a long long time from the first book and I read it until the latest chapter, ch.177. It was an emotional roller-coaster, I couldn't stop crying and even after I finished reading it the tears wouldn't stop and thus this review..

Yup, the spoiler is pretty much a break down of my concern for the future ending of this manga. Truly one of the BEST manga I've ever read. It sweet, funny, sad, with a lots of angst and fully packed with action, Alices style.

I first found out about Gakuen Alice as the anime almost what, 4-5 years ago? I adored it. More than adored it. Though it was very innocent and childlike it was still whimsical and original enough not to be too mushy and I liked that about it. Basically, it was a pleasure to read. And though I gladly followed it into it's darker transition perhaps it became something so opposite of it's former state It wasn't really what I wanted. There are very few comedic moments and now I'm totally lost when I try to pick it back up again. I do commend the mangaka for what she's trying to do but it's just not a fun read for me anymore. It's strange that even though I'm older now I'd prefer it more innocent.

Things dealing with the darker complexities of life are great but aren't always unless they're done right, especially in the context of an original shoujo. Sweet elementary school kids don't exactly go (for realistic and serious purposes). The lack of comedy adds to the bleak depressing arcs and is too much of a change from before. And the whole corruption of orgs. theme feels a little average and simplistic - once all the characters are pulled into it, what's left to realize and grow from?

To cut the wordy garble (because I could go on): It feels too much like a sweet shounen/shoujo turned crazy dark and depressing. The sun does not shine where they are, and I always thought it would.

I think there was one mistake made. In the manga Natsume turns 11 before Mikan but Added on: I went over the trivia of the gakuen alice wiki and it turns out january 1st isn't Mikans real birthday and her real birthday is unkown but its somewhere around May, so she is 6 months older then Natsume and shes a year older than she thought she was xD

I am a 17 old girl and I am now a big fan of this amazing manga.
I always said that this manga isn't my type since the main female is a grade school
but it was a really shock when I read the manga
it turned from a childish manga to a manga for all ages
the story start to get more serious that you start to forget that they are only in grade school
SO YOU MUST READ IT BEFORE JUDGING ON IT
cuz I am sure it is worth your time

Loved it in the beginning, a happy yet slightly bitter story, but then in the last 2 arcs it just got majorly depressing.
This one has hit rock bottom.
