This manga is insane! All of Inariya's mangas are very sensual and explicit. She really knows how to bring the story so that it reads easily and it's believable.

Intriguing: Title Page Art Alone Worth A Long Gander

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I liked the plot. It had great potential. It was war and it was tragedy on both sides.
I didn't quite pick up what the motivation was for the Major to single out this young Jewish boy. Some sort of obligation? Did he know something about his parents? Did he feel responsible? But he didn't seem to raise him with any sort of joy or love.

Art: The expressions on the young boy's face in the flashbacks were incredible. His twisted personality is actually quite understandable. This man who saved him is also the man who did nothing to fight against the cruelties he saw. But he saved him. The Jewish man saw him as his 'god.' But a cold god. So he was giving him back the same. I did like the bondage. It was fascinating and delivered vivid and evocative.

He was punishing him for 'not fighting back.' But then, really did the Major want to? We don't know. And if he did want to, what could he have done? The reader doesn't get too much insight on the Major's personality at all. The Major never seemed happy never smiled at any point in his life it seems. What could have happened to this man? Was it is inaciton that made him so cold? He had to block it all out?

The two comedic extras were a strange juxtaposition to the serious nature of the first two chapters. They were interesting but I'd rather have seen the mangaka give the reader more serious studies of the characters to expand and deepen the readers connection to them.

Zion has yet again show us the characteristic look of WW2, guns, beautiful seme and ukes in military uniforms. A trait that can be found in almost all her other work.
Zion has a stylish relation to Netsuno Ori, that is also a WW2 piece, but has no relation otherwise.
There is drama on every page, subtle that is, and we slowly are introduced to the characters - why its only a 3 in rating.
Zion is only 2 chapters long, but that does not lower the quality, hotness and smexy look.
Final: The artwork and style is really beautiful.
Only minus in my book is that not just Zion, but all her stories are too short, but even so its worth reading and pretty enjoyable.
The style has not changed much and can also be found in 'Chrysalis' and 'Maiden Rose' that has been scanlated already.
We wait patiently for someone to please let us enjoy all of Inariya Fusanosuke other works.
