Description
The story is of Kitano Seiichirou, a very kind and pure-hearted young man, with a horrifying, monstrous face. People being what they are, they think he's a terrifying delinquent, and there are plenty of chance misunderstandings (coupled with Kitano's convenient inability to understand what's happening around him) that propel him into the position of "school guardian", a.k.a. head thug on campus.

Right now I am on my late 30´s so you can imagine, have being read a lot of mangas and comics since I start at 8, If you have any doubt to read Angel Densetsu may no doubt anymore cause I haven't laugh this much in long time with a manga, the gags, jokes and misunderstands with the message is really amazing on this one, The last manga who make me smile this much was Seitokai Yakuindomo.

Don't Judge A Manga By It's Art

Every time I recommend Angel Densetsu, I always get complaints about the poorly drawn art. Angel Densetsu is a reminder to all of us that art isn't everything when it comes to a manga. Or rather, when it comes to everything. Whether if it is a person or a manga, it is best to give it a chance and try to understand it before casting it aside. That is the true essence of Angel Densetsu. A timeless manga for all age and gender.

Humor Everywhere

I've just finished this manga for the second time and I enjoyed it as much (if not more) than the first time a few years ago.

It's a good story that seeks to deal with common prejudices based on appearance, rather than personality. It kind of beats you over the head with it. It's so obvious it's almost cheesy, but somehow it's really refreshing.
The humor itself is more or less of the same nature throughout Angel Densetsu, but it does get you in unexpected ways every now and then.
This was the mangaka's first serialized work I believe, so the art starts out semi-bad. But you can really see how he got practiced over time and by the end, the art is downright beautiful and Yagi Norihiro develops his own distinct style.
The "bad" art for the first few volumes is the only reason I'm giving this a 9 out of 10, rather than full marks.

Nice and different

This is great, and very different than the norm for shonen jump. Although it has some pretty good fights, what is great here are the charachters. All of them have a charm of their own, from the silly Kuroda to the crazy Ikuno. The message it tries to convey and the way it does so are also very pretty. I read this before Claymore, I hope all of this works trials and happinesses have made the author even better. Will definitely read other works by him when I get the chance.

Don't know why people say this is boring. I've been laughing my ass off every chapter so far. It's been so long since I can laugh at a manga like this =]]] Only if the art can be more clearly, it'd have a perfect 10!

Boring and repetitive.

The eternal chain of coincidences that make Kitano not only look evil but confuse people and win the fights are plain stupid imo and that was one of the main killers of my enjoyment, then, whenever he needs to the guy can't speak 2 words in a row other than screaming "HIIIIIII" or "KYAAAAA"!?? isn't he supposed to be a top student why does he speaks like a chimpanzee!?? retarded. This starts with "don't judge a book by his cover" idea but the original setting is lost in all the ridiculous thing that happen.
I was hopping this to improve after Ryoko but it din't change that much; dropped at vol. 4, might pick it up later.

Alright, but Repetitive

This is not a manga that you should marathon through. Although some of the characters are fun (particularly Kitano and Ryoko) every arc in the manga is the same. It does have a nice message (don't judge others on appearances) it does not really do anything else. I can see this being more enjoyable if read over a staggered time, because otherwise it is quite obvious how recycled the jokes are.

Loved this to bits

I. Adored. This. It was absolutely one of my favorite mangas of all time. I totally didn't expect this too - at first, when looking at other people's comments about repetitive plot and stupid characters, I was prepared for it to just be good for a laugh. But once I started reading, I couldn't stop, and I read it all in one sitting, then the next day I went back and read my favorite bits again, and re-read them for good measure, and I ultimately came to the conclusion that I'm utterly a fan of this. Why? First off, I couldn't get enough of the characters - my favorite is Takahisa, and my least favorite is Kuroda, but each and every one of them have intriguingly distinctive personalities and cool roles to play and I enjoyed watching how they banded together around Kitano. Secondly, I really enjoyed the plot - I didn't find the running gags repetitive, because the outcome of each gag would happen in such different ways and keep me laughing constantly. And the ending? So. Badass. All in all, highly recommending this manga to everybody.

Light hearted and fun

This is a manga about characters in a world much like ours. However the world presented is a bit silly. People are very gullible, and tend to believe things are as they appear. It's nice watching the characters around Kitano grow and while he may not change much, he has a definite impact on the people around him. All in all angel densetsu is a sweet manga that isn't trying to be anything more than a light hearted comedy. I would recommend it.

Stretched a bit thin

This manga started out as a one-shot and you can really tell, since I think it struggles a bit to get beyond the premise, which also gets slightly repetitive and annoying since it does not fit a running series very well, but it eventually finds its focus, after which it shapes up into a good high school comedy, with a touch of slice-of-life to it. The colorful cast really brings life to it and it manages to evolve well beyond the initial gag.
