Description
Tamiya Nika is a beautiful, outgoing, popular high-school girl. She has just the right look, just the right fashions, and is everyone's friend. What everyone at school does not know is how hard Nika works to keep up this perfect image, and what she is REALLY like at home. When not at school, Nika is a scary, sloppy, tight-fisted girl who wears glasses, an ugly sweatsuit, and has her hair pulled back into unattractive buns. She lies around playing video games and reading manga. Her attitude is bossy and cranky, and she travels far out of her way to shop where she won’t be recognized.

Not quite as funny, not quite as dramatic, not quite as touching. This series falls short of Kare Kano in pretty much all ways. Way too far on the childish side of shoujo to boot. The characters in KareKano were deep and heartwarming, the characters in switch girl are just cheap copies. Disappointing but what can you do, this story's already been told and told much better. Go read KareKano if you havn't already.

Despite the humorous tone, the romance between Nika and Arata is moving. The side characters are lovable and there aren't too many characters that are in the "love to hate" category, so it keeps the magna fun and appealing.

I was worried that this would head into love triangle mediocrity but it veered off into another more delightful direction entirely. So good. Not a deep read but honest and memorable. I've read so many unmemorable shoujo that when I come across a diamond in the rough like this I get excited. off beat and adorable. Good stuff.
I liked the start. It was funny and refreshing, but then somewhere along the line it got cliche which was where i lost interest... Very typical shoujo. Go for Kare Kano instead if you want something more realistic and serious.. If you want something very light and funny then go for this.

very cute and characters although seemingly exaggerated can be related to, as in how characters act in this manga is not to far from reality of things real people do ^_^ i'm sure many of us have our own or at least know of know plenty of people who have "switch mode" behaviors

The on/off switch mode is only for appearance.
I like chapter 21. Nika dare to show Arata her true and embarassing self. Both of them are honest to each others and really confident that their partner can accept who they really are.
At first I think the female lead here is a liar who always insecured and try to hire who she really is. But it turns out to be totally different. The more I read, the more I like Nika.

...but it's funnier, and a lot less serious than Kare Kano was. With Kare Kano, there was a lot of emphasis on more realistic themes (pregnancy, abandonment, abuse, etc.) and with Switch Girl!!, it's pretty much all pure shoujo--girl trying to get guy, girl failing, and somehow everything will probably work on in the end.
The humor in this is pretty much an in-your-face-slapstick type of humor, but it is humorous and there are its very unrealistic (albeit hilarious) moments. The emotion in this is really good to, so if you're looking for a pretty light, funny story to read, this is one that would be good to explore.

an kare kano rip off. Rather blatant as well, cant believe somebody hasnt tried to sue her, well i guess once i read this eventually ill find otu if its better or worse than the original...but im going to guess that if the mangaka cant come up with an original plot herself, the story is going to suck.
It's only been 3 chapters and I've been laughing quite a bit. The girl's personality is charming and unique. And her reactions to certain events are hilarious as well. However the manga doesn't lack in the romance department and has a perfect of balance of romance and comedy.
