this manga is great, great fighting scene, great story line, great character. kenshin is a good samurai manga, but sdk is better

Its a good manga, Generic Shounen 7, but Good
The problem is that its scans range from great to the worst I've ever seen
Past chapter 235 I wanted to stop reading entirely because the scans were so horrible
I've literally seen troll scans be like 10X better and more legible

The only shounen manga that made me liked the tsundere relationship between the main lead & the heroine. As much as I love the fight scenes what hooks me to this manga is the romantic sub plot. So yeah I recommend this manga for those who looks for shounen with good romance, epic fight scenes, non slutty female lead & mature tsundere hero.

SDK might be typical but you will grow to love the story as it progresses and additional factor is the ending of the manga was wrapped up nicely without any loose ends.

it wasn't too long. Unfortunately, I don't have the attention span for mangas as long as this, so I had to drop it. Nevertherless, I still liked it, even though I hate some parts- like the comparison between Kyo's first woman and Yuya, if it was me, I would HATE to be compared to someone else. Like someone else said, I was disappointed with Yuya's degrading from a badass to weak heroine. Other than that, I do love the art- it's pretty decent and the story is fine too, but obviously not mind bending, or overly unique, just normal. Everyone also said some more useful reviews about this so I'll leave it to this...

While most of what ayanechan said below is true, I would say the manga is still worth a read. Even with all the shortcomings, there are still quite a few epic moments that will definitely make it worth your while. I am a sucker for happy endings so suffice to say, I was really happy with the ending and epilogue. For all the cliches and annoyances, SDK still shines through.

first few volume is not very captivating.... just so-so....
but quite good to follow, then when it reach 11 and up volume, become more and more interesting,
and I cant stop read it! especially when it reach 20 volume and up....
one good point is, the ending is good! I love the last chapter! a story without word... but full of meaning.

I have to say that I loved this manga from the beginning to the end. It's a very well-drawn manga and the artwork is absolutely amazing. The main character is badass and the storyline is very intressting.

One thing I didn't like about the manga - It was tooooo much fighting, but maybe it's because I'm a girl.

the story was really good, or I thought so in the begginning... the fact that everthing was so mysterious and Kyo seemed to kick as, but the more I read the more I started to realise that I overestimated this manga. The fact that one of the bad guys keept being called "that person" reminded me much of Harry Potter (Voldermort) and the fact that in the end "that person" wasnt even close to be the main evil in this story...

gah, I just felt like the author didnt think throu the story of this manga beforehand, it felt like he just started drawing it and then midways started to throw in strong character for Kyo to kill to fill the pages...

I dont mean that this manga is necessary bad, it is just that the story felt spontaneous and not well thought.. to bad couse it had so much potential. Not one of the best adventure/action mangas out there, but not one of the worst either

I really really enjoyed this series! The art is beautiful and the plot is overall great! (I'm actually one of the few who'd prefer SDK over Kenshin) I like the combination of action, humor and romance (which never gets all fluffy).
The characters are also great.. I love Kyo and his bad ass ways and I really have a soft spot for his 4 warriors (especially Hotaru who is f**king hilarious).

This is definitely one of my favorite mangas!

I hasn't read the whole manga yet but I am really attached to it! I really love the story and the fights are great but sometimes its a bit too much talk in between them and Kamijyo seems to be dragging out the story way too much...

But one thing that REALLY bugs me(and by the comments, others too) is that my favorite character, Kyoshiro, barely gets to be in the manga :/ I mean Kyo was really intresting at first but lately he's becoming more and more predictable as you get to know him... Kyoshiro on the other hand is a real mystery...
I liked it more when Kyo and Kyoshiro shared the manga more and Kyo brought most of the action while Kyoshiro brought the humor and got the story to move forward...
I think Kyoshiro is really cool but I won't tell why because that would be a huge spoiler...

I give it a 9 because that Kyoshiro got too little room.. >.<
