Description
Iriya Tetsuo was the nice, quiet kid that everybody knows. Until well-meant prodding on the part of Hanada Satoshi made him choose the 'easy' way out. He purposely failed the entrance exam to a good school, and picked fights so that he wouldn't have to be around Hanada anymore.
The last thing he expected or wanted was for strong-willed Kizu Ryouji to show any interest in him. The sparks fly between the two, while Iriya's best friend Kasuga Ryouta watches jealously...

I did like these series. I mean, the principal story was perfecto for me: I love these love-hate relationships, then little by little they aknowledge their attraction and so on. However, i dont know if it's because of culture differences but the characters (Kizu and Iriya) were too cold to each other in some ways... Maybe it's due to their teenage rebelious minds, yeah they're only 16 or 17 so it's totally understanble, it's a fresh point of view 'cause you always get these BL characters impossible to believe: they are 21 but they make decision like they were 45 (wise age) and that's so not natural. The mangaka gives Iriya and Kizu a perfect and suitable 15-year-old boy personality. Oh my and that without-finger one shot was totally hot... i didnt imagine i would get horny with a topic like that but... the side-story about Hikone and Kasuga's cousin were hot also... I guess i would have given the series a perfect 10 if there had been more explicit sex but nobody is perfect.
Yaoi at its best

This is how men in manga should be XD had to say that first *loves on non bishies*. Anyway, this is a truly amazing manga. As far as yaoi goes its pretty unique, it doesent rush, the sex is balanced with the story and the characters gives the plot its momentum. This is manga at its best. My only complaint is that the pace is sometimes a little too slow for my taste - but this is probably more of a personal preference (i can admit when im probably biased). However, the art is good, the characters are all unique and quite realistic too and the story keeps you interested without throwing out excess smut or random drama.
I'm especially fond of Hikone's story ^^ it has some interesting connotations.

Overall I like this manga. I liked the last half better than the first. At first it was hard to distinguish all the characters, with the exception of Iriya who has lighter hair, from each other. As the manga went on each character became more defined. Ryouta annoyed me at times, but somehow always won me back over. I really enjoyed Ryouta and Iriya's friendship; and how even though Iriya got into a relationship with another man he didn't lose his masculinity or turn into a sissy. I really wish there had been more incorporation of Hikone's past and "family." It would have also been nice to see Ryouta's family's business and connections factor into his relationships and daily life more, rather than just the store. I also really loved the short about Kizu and Iriya when they're older. I would love to read a manga based on them when they're older as well!
wow!!!

although there are other comments saying that after vol. 2 and the story starts to drift away from the characters..... i see the total opposite!!! i love how the mangaka went into details of how not only Iriya and Kizu's feelings and inner thoughts but also Ryouta's. I LOVE everything about this manga and i will love to re-read it again later on.
I have a lot of fav. parts in this manga. i love how the friendship between Iriya and Ryouta turned out and the relationship between Iriya and Kizu grew each chapter. one of my fav. parts was when Kizu and Ryouta had Iriya tied up and was harassing him!!! --> really SEXY ^^ and how Iriya ended it with him staying in the restroom. hahahaha i love Kizu's and Ryouta's reaction!! it is true that Iriya has sexy eyes, in fact SUPER SEXY eyes!!!! @ o @
<333 the extra TT ^ TT i get to see them together afterwards... and they're so HOT too.... esp. Kizu. i have to say that Iriya was much sexier when he was a high schooler.... after reading the extra, I REALLY want to see more of the OLDER versions of Iriya and Kizu!!!
** i'd love it more if there were more love scenes, were more detailed, and if there were more to the OLDER versions of Iriya and Kizu!!! ---- truly <33333 them

I agree with what two other reviewers have said. The manga starts off excellently with the first volume, but the quality of the plot development dwindles with each subsequent volume. That being said, the characters are interesting and often mysterious and three dimensional, and the art is good too (especially for a manga started more than ten years ago). I personally didn't like the ending though-- and the extra at the end seemed like a presentation of a parallel universe: quite bewildering. All in all, a good read, but a little overrated, in my opinion.

I really liked this in the beginning. But then the story starting to ebb away from the main characters, and soon I had no idea what was going on. Then I was simply wondering when it would all end.

I originally fell into reading this manga by chance because of the art which is quite different to your usual yaoi/shounen-ai. The story in the first 2 volumes proved interesting enough for me to continue because of its, albeit simple, character studies and the love-hate relationship on the part of Iriya towards Kizu. But then the portrayal of Iriya's best friend who plays a pivotal role from volume 3 onwards became immensely frustrating in that it was irratic. And along with it the story falls apart and Kizu is forced to the background. I don't know why there's such a large discrepancy between the portrayal of the title characters and the "third wheel". But as I'm already up to volume 5 I might as well wait it out to the end in the hope that there is a return to form in the last chapters.

Review only for c.1 and 2 and Hikone.
This one especially appealed to me. It is a more serious, dark story, so far, with a menacing seme ("Where shall I bite you next ?') and a strong, bold uke. It was an interesting mix of personality for the uke; he is weak and questions his self-confidence and fears his dark memories, but he is strong, in that he protects his larger friend and talks and fights with confidence.
Hikone is a fabulous side story, no, a stunning side story, that explores the character of Kizu's friend. The actual scanlation is below par quality, but it is readable and doesn't detract from the impact.
