I would have loved this manga if not for one thing : MC Prinicipal view (in other words BullSH*t)

The male character has this annoying trait which albeit few other Shonen heroes share, "I can't kill coz all lives are valuable" BS

according to the MR.Hero of this manga Rapists, killers, Murderers etc are all EQUALS and deserves the same treatment (aka morality Bullsh*t galore)

Seriously this manga had sooo much potential, when i read the synopsis abt a Hero and Villain teaming up and going along a journey i was excited and some of the fans even told me that the Devil goes through alot of character development but how could i even reach that point when this OH SO GHANDIAN MR.Hero is there to annoy me at every page with his oh soo BS Philosophy

how i wish the MC was just pure badass dude minus all that morality bs i am sure i would have loved it more

Maybe I came in with unreasonable expectations, but this manga received a lot of good reviews, so I assumed it'd be at least decent. Honestly, there's nothing special about it, and the romance was lukewarm at best. It tries to incorporate some fantasy elements, but it didn't do much for the characters or the plot. Everything about this manga just seemed very stale, and it feels like the same old shoujo characters superimposed in a fantasy environment. That being said, there's nothing terrible in this manga, and it doesn't particularly offend me, so I think it's a solid 5.
I guess I would recommend this to people who're really into both fantasy and shoujo, but all in all, I think this is a skip.

I started reading this manga after being lured in by the interestingly-sounding premise and finished it quickly and if I had to sum up the story, my words would be: "Who cares?".

Unfortunately Superior is just another low-quality manga based on coincidences and misunderstandings, with both romance and drama lacking any depth or weight. It represents human(and monster) psyche in a very simplistic and immature way that makes it hard to like the characters - they're just plot objects and not real personalities.

All in all, it's somewhat enjoyable, especially if your standards aren't very high but forgettable and severely overrated(8.47/10 as of the time of writing). I give it 5.6/10.

Well, I stumbled across this manga late one night when I was bored of my PS3.
Me, I'm the type of person who can read and enjoy many genres of manga whether they be shounen, shoujo, and pretty much anything except yaoi ones. Anyway to the review..

Storyline was how you say, pretty linear. There were not any filler chapters or any "useless ones", every chapter felt to me like it contributed to the storyline.

The art wasn't something I would bash on this manga, it was pretty nice to see a hero change facial expressions for once.. cough cough Bleach. The action scenes were sometimes a little hard to tell what's going on though.

Finally, if you're the type of person who enjoys fantasy, and sword & sorcery type manga's, with some romance thrown in there, give this a read. I found it to be an okay read. ;D

Story = Unique , about Mighty Queen who fallen in commoner
Art = Worst, Shoujou-ish style ( see Gantz/Yotsubato, Beserk and Dorohedoro for best Art )
Platform = Medieval + Fantasy ( read Claymore/Beserk for best reference )

Why STUPID ? Here's the case ;
- This person (she/he) anihillate "over 1/2 population" people and monster of the world -

The Reason :
- For opening a manga or background story, its TOO MUCH! Its ridicilous and propeterous !
- How he/she do that ? 'cause later this person is easy to be hurt, poisoned and defeating enemies need a strategy.
- What she/he kill of 1/2 population of the world ? an old man? a kid? a rat?
- How it can be accomplished? Posion, a bom?
- And how long ? A month, a year ?
- And what about a village, a country or a kingdom ?
- Even worse her/his identity remain mistery, by the rest of people and monster, and by the hero whose parent been killed!

This is very ridicilous, made me wondering those question above and write this so people can understand how "garbage" this manga is.

It would be nice if the background story like :
- a world war between human, monster, demon, etc and she/he is the only survival and the story begin after that -

I have read many manga and there is no hero nor enemies could accomplished something big, only with simple background character for their char. development/

She's demon queen so it happened! ( from where, planet seiya?)

This is a very typical fantasy-romance story.

But, that's not altogether a bad thing, of course.

Superior is a manga that takes all those romance cliches and plays it completely straight. Demon King (or, rather, Queen)? Check. Magnanimous hero who refuses to kill anyone except the Demon King? Check. And, now, all that's left is for them to fall in love!! Check.

Don't get me wrong. I personally really enjoyed Superior. It's a wonderful manga. The romance is really cliche at times, and the comedy falls flat more often than not... The characters are all likable and enjoyable enough, but after their initial appearances/arcs, most of them remain completely static. (Actually, I can't recall a single character developing as a character after their backstory, etc. was resolved.)

But, regardless, I like it.

Simply put, Superior is a manga with a lot of flaws, but it's not really a manga to be taken completely seriously or for the reader to be deeply invested. (The mangaka does try to make the drama compelling, and some of it is, but most of it isn't. Still, it's enjoyable enough.) As long as you are able to overlook these flaws and just take everything as they come, you'll probably enjoy Superior. It's certainly a wild ride, and I really did like it while it lasted.

Now, if you hate the romance/fantasy genre or can't stand cliches, this manga is obviously not for you. It's certainly enjoyable, but it really isn't one to change opinions. It's really more of a "guilty pleasure" than anything because, in terms of story or characters, it really falls flat. Where Superior truly shines is in its simple ability to make the audience enjoy the story, regardless of how ridiculous it is.

Well, I really liked this manga! I don't know if it's because I'm new to shoujo and not used to the style, but I simply loved the art! It's much more detailed than the most shonen/seinen I've read up to now. The background ideia of the series is amazing, the characters captivating and the comedy scenes hilarious! I think the series could be just a little shorter, because at some point, although it continues excelent, it starts to drag on a bit... And the problem is that the characters start seeming a bit stupid for not realizing something that is obvious...

If it wasn't for the sequel Superior would've gotten 7 from me.
The art is really not my cup of tea, the plot is kinda good, but the author takes too direct approach to morals. I doesn't look like fairy-tale, it doesn't feel like fairy-tale.... Yet characters' reaction and decisions feel like one... But over all it is enjoyable. Especially if you compare it too the sequel which is totally retarded.
8 because I enjoyed it and annoyances were minor... compared to the sequel.

I love the art!!! It's very similar to Shimotsuki Kairi's art in fact! The storyline is pretty good, as well as the characters, they're all very well developed and like other viewers, I suggest that you read Superior Cross after this one. It's the continuation the story like what will happen if Exa found out that Sheila is the demon "lord". This one is good too, it's a must read!

i guess this isnt my cup of tea...the characters are shallow and annoying
the only remeeding quality in this manga is the enimies-falling-in-love thing, but i still thought the romance was terrible
i dont know, if you like typical shounen action manga, then i guess this is for you. if not, then dont bother reading you'll definitely drop it
but i appreciate the absence of annoying fanservice in this manga
