A great read and a story that makes you want to keep trying and never give up. The drawings are really good and the story is not typical at all. If you're looking for something new and original i recommend it ;-)

This is a manga that is WORTH reading!
It's mixed up with problems like how all stories are...
But this one seems to be the BEST out of Youko's mangas.

Except for the ending...It wasn't exciting at all...Just a short ending that makes you feel like... 'WHAT THE HECK?! THAT'S IT?!'

it was a bit awkward when i read the first chapter (i was tempted to stop reading it), but it did get better. the plot does follow the typical shoujo storyline, but it still had its charming points. i thought hikaru, the protagonist, was pretty funny. she does seem to follow the normal shoujo girl formula where the girl is weak and (i hate to say) a bit stupid, but i ended up thinking she was adorable. she ends up being so optimistic that it's sort of funny what she says and does.
as the other reviewers mention, the ending is...lacking. it probably could've been given a more wrapped up ending, since it kind of left something to be desired. however, i think in that way it doesn't follow the typical storyline of guy and girl proclaiming, "i love you!" and then the story ending with a kiss. personally, i thought it was a clear ending, but if there was another chapter, i definitely wouldn't mind reading it.
if the typical shoujo plot isn't your cup of tea, then you should probably pass on this, since it is a bit predictable. however, if you want a quick shoujo read, this manga has its cute moments.

I think people misunderstood the point of this story a great deal. The romance and who she ends up with is not the most important, but probably, because it's Maki Youko's story, people read it for the romance.

I think more importantly, there are the themes of "change" and "identity" with respect to one's relationships. At the end, Hikaru wrote in her journal that simply being close to Jun's friends made her feel closer to Jun and even helped her to know him better. The ending, which seems to be "unclear" to a lot of people, is more realistic than many romances and is actually one of my favorite points of the manga. It gives the impression that the story isn't over yet and that there is still "more" to come. How many shoujo romances can you read before you realize that the 'perfect' ending is just so boring and overdone?

My main critique is that we don't ever get a good glimpse into Jun's character, only hints, and that's only toward the end of the series. So, that's my main reason for rating it lower than a 9.

This manga has a SUPER cute illustration, which is the thing that really got me interested in this manga. At first it was interesting. The first love and awkwardness were all cute, but towards the end...well... it ended way TOO fast. I wish that there will be more dramas. Lastly, I'm just disappointed at the ending.

Nice plot and very nice drawing but who did she end up with? The ending was like mid way and just stopped. I think the mangaka could of done a little better with the ending. At least tell us who she chose -.-

Uwa... T^T Nothing happened between Jun and Hikaru, he didn't say anything like, "I like you, Hikaru.", or something like that... A-and no kiss! The only kiss happened between Nene and Masato, but they're side characters!! I demand a sequel! Waaah--!~~
Other that that, I adore Maki-sensei's art, and although the ending had nothing to it the rest of the story was okay although it could've been longer... We've just been introduced to Jun's mother and Hikaru and her mother don't have enough money!! Again I'll say: I demand a sequel!

is it just me or was this manga a complete waste of time.
the things that happen seem overly complicated when theyre actually very simple.
its just lack of honesty and communication
and the ending!!...what on earth happened there!? it was like it stopped in the middle of the sentence. T___T

the manga has nice drawings and it is nice..but i don't know the result of who hikaru would end up with?maki or jun?or alone..it's really nice but it didn't really explain clearly..

I really am a fan of Youko Maki but this manga is lame .. The art is of course as good as always but the story .. :/ .. It ends so suddenly and if It was not written in the chapter name I wouldn't believe that it ended .. Read it if you have time to waste .. but otherwise try her more cool works like "Atashi wa Bambi" (:
