Dropped After Fake Karakura Arc

I honestly used to obsess over this series so bad. The characters are the first thing that make me fell in love with this series, especially from the Shinigami. I think they are really interesting (especially the Shinigami for me, while Orihime is plain boring). I also enjoy the fighting scenes a lot. Even though I agree they sometimes tend to drag on a little, but that's the only time you get to see your favorite characters (and I'm not talking about Ichigo, he also bored me a little, which is ironic since he is the main character), and this keeps me going.

Right after the Fake Karakura Arc, however, the story went downhill. I had hoped at first, hoping that at least I can see some of my favorite characters develoment. But then Kubo Tite starts to add more and more new characters and my disappointment increases for each new character he brings. Now I just scroll the new chapters for a few seconds, hoping that I get to see my favorite characters show up finally.

The other thing that makes me rate for this series is the fact that the old characters are forgotten into the dust, which is a shame since the author actually made a great job introducing and developing the characters. He instead creates more characters that becomes more and more boring and repetitive.

Ups and downs

If I could read everything I have read so far in one go, I would be more satisfied, but since I wait to read every chapter and through the hiatus, it is not uncommon for me to be disappointed. Some chapters are just lame in the sense that it feels as though the author didn't put in much effort, but most of the time I really enjoy this manga. Creative powers and an in-depth story. I'd recommend it to most of my friends.

Bleach was the second manga I ever picked up and loved. BUT. At some point it starts going downhill. The author tends to drag on some fights WAY TOO MUCH (especially in Hueco Mundo) and sometimes you tend to see some plot holes and asspulls here and there. The art has always been beautiful and I do believe Kubo is a very talented artist. If the author was more organized with
his storytelling, Bleach would have been much, much better. I want to note, that I love all the character designs but also the criptic and metaphoric titles the author gives to his chapters! Another thing that Bleach has is that it gives the chance for other characters other than the protagonist to grow stronger and develop. Of course, as a classic shounen, Ichigo will always come to save the day at the end but also give chances to other characters to do something other than despair unlike other shounen manga (coughcough naruto cough). Along with Ichigo everyone else in soul society as well as his friends is maturing and getting better other than Ichigo outclassing them just because he is the main character. Despite its good points Bleach, should have ended long ago because it feels like the story is not told properly as I said before...

The fights are always one-sided

Dunno since when, but Bleach definitely has adopted what DB's sickness in its (DB) last few arcs. The fights are always one-sided. The one side is simply too strong for the opposition. Same thing with Fairy Tail. I don't know whatever, but if it's one-sided, it's still dragged on too long. A one-sided fight shouldn't be dragged for weeks or month! Totally different from OP. Even if there were one-sided fights, those one-sided fights were still logical (ie: Sanji simply no match for Doflamingo). But OP had many fights that fought to the last drop of energy for both parties, which made the fights looked very awesome. There is no more hope of such toe-to-toe fights in Bleach. Hope it will finish asap.

O!G Syndrome

Kubo seems to have suffered from Oh! Great syndrome. This is a disease that plagues mangaka who have extremely popular manga's but have run out of ideas. They have made so much money they can afford copious amounts of mind altering drugs and continue to write an incoherent story until the day they are cancelled.

Once part of the Big 3, now the only way you'll find Bleach at the front of Jump is if a foreigner decides to read the magazine from left to right. RIP

Got tired of my unrequited love for Bleach
by MajiAkashi

It's very sad because I used to love this series so much. I've stuck with it for 6 years, now I'm taking a break. What good is a series that doesn't even show its original heroine? Heck, it didn't even show its HERO in Fake!Karakura Town arc for MONTHS. Then, we got stuck with Orihime, who I don't even consider as a character anymore seeing as how empty, selfish and 1D she is, who apparently is now some sort of heroine for a whole two arcs and a half. I loved Bleach. But now my hate for it is bigger than my love for it. Since it doesn't even give me the chance to love anything, as anything I love is either off screen or OFF SCREEN. Why would I read the manga anymore if all I see is Orihime who I don't give a shit about?

I think what threw me off more is Kubo sensei's attitude towards his readers. I understand he is protective of his characters but he is too proud and arrogant. So I'm just doing as he told his readers. I'm not reading Bleach anymore.

Bleach as a Whole is Amazing although people complain like fake karakura town was horrible which it really wasn't at all was actually good. The artwork is good and Kubo doing one hell of a job with the story. Better Than Naruto right now and Fairy tail not One piece. The 1000 year blood war arc is amazing stunning and hes one of my favorite mangakas.

Lot's of action, great art and huge character cast for anyone to find at least one likeable.
Story is rather well crafter, lots of subtle things and symbolic meaning mixed in while at the same time can be red casually without getting in to it and still enjoy it.

What happened?

Rating: 6.5  / 10.0
Kinda breaks my heart how I have to give this a 6.5 rating. I used to LOVE Bleach, and by love, I mean it being one of my favourite series back then. I liked the series up to Vol 48, but after that, it was just sort of 'meh'. I've stuck to the series for more than seven years so I might as well just see how it ends.

The issue that I have with Bleach is that there are just so many characters introduced (who are never visited upon again), how OP Ichigo gets... AND THOSE PLOT HOLES! There's just no more sense to Bleach anymore, I sort of wished that it HAD ended at Volume 48.
