Description
[From ShoujoMagic]:

Ichihashi Nanao is an incredibly bright girl and the first to ever transfer into Mehabia Catholic School. The one God here, though, is the "Judicature Club," a school-sanctioned means of resolving student disputes. Its president and judge is the first person Nanao meets--Hanegi Raika, a handsome boy who looks like a girl. This highly selective club wants Nanao as a member, but while she may be unwilling to judge others, she may have no choice when she herself is judged.

Pleasantly surprised

I had read previous reviews prior to reading this one since i had read another work by the mangaka and was quite disappointed....this was not the case with this one. The story flowed quite naturally, perhaps because am involved in law i through the characters and its development was done quite well, particularly the cases they had to deal with. I was very relieved to see that the story did not focused mainly in the romantic side but when it did made it look quite realistic and natural. Regarding the ending, it seemed some people were not satisfied but that was not my case, i found it to be consistent with the story and it showed a thorough completion to the very end.

I loved , here we can see were Setona progressed to her actual style of drawing ! I have read olds and recent mangas of her , so here is where she changed to her actual drawing ! You can notice that ! From Dousei ai we notice the change to her drawing to the beginning of this manga drawing and from diamond we see the progess to her actual style ! The manga plot and characters are suprising , it was very good , it impressed me ! I jsut didn't like the fact that...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
...Setsu died.

*SPOILER END *

I actually liked the endidng was good and realistic ! Like a lot people comments ... it's not a typical shoujo! It's much more !

This is something different- a shojo that doesnt entirely centre around romance. Here, the plot device is the 'judicature club.' First few volumes show us how the group works, how they solve their cases, in each case we're shown what 'justice' is. Later volumes give us background information on some of the characters, we see affection growing between them and the drama comes in. It's all very entertaining.
But a good story needs a good ending, and this is what it lacks. The ending is summed up in one chapter, leaving you unfulfilled. Usually, we all want the mangaka to give us a glimpse of what happens to the characters in the future, but here, the last four pages were probably not needed. Even though it ended, it didn't feel like it was complete. But it's a good read if you forget the lame ending.

Yet Another Manga that's AWESOME....Until the Ending

OMG, how many mangas have I read that I ADORE until I read the ending!?! Let's see, there's Paradise Kiss, Beauty is the Beast, Shaman King.....and now Diamond Head. I mean, this had the potential of being one of my favorite mangas, until the ending! I mean, granted, it wasn't worse that the Beauty is the Beast ending, but it was pretty bad. And no, its not because of who Nanao ended up with. Because honestly, if she had ended up with... (SPOLIER AHEAD)

Spoiler (highlight to view)
...Leica instead of Takabana [sp?] I would have been angry, because I loved the person she ended up with.

But honestly, I would have preferred an ending with LOADS of more closure. Still. it was an AMAZING read. Definitely not your typical shoujo [honestly, I'd be fine if my parents read it, contrary to other shoujos I've devoured, Kaikan Phrase for example] and I'd recommend it to ANYONE. Be warned though, you might shed some tears along the way.

I loved this manga so much, but when i've read last 4 pages... Why it had to end like this? T_T This isn't a typical shoujo, that's why I loved this so much, but those last 4 pages... As for me, unforgivable. That's not the end that I would like to see, but, well... This manga rock, after all XD

It wasn't your average pathetic girl shoujo, yep I liked it a lot ^^
But I don't know why it's classified as a gender bender...

You have the 'judicature club' and related trials issue, that tie together different episodes and cases:all are rooted in mankind's universal feelings like hatred, revenge, envy, love; some have a more prominent both Japanese slice-of-life and manga-clichés flavour (you have the school festival, the maid outfits moment, the pupil-teacher relationship, and the gender-bender element, ). So at the beginning the story goes on as loosely tied together episodes, with the detective story and trial elements being the main tie at first (finding evidences , asking the witnesses around, the judgement itself). Along that, you have the club members, their personalities and dynamics, and the way they're affected by their investigations: what good and bad means, and if and to what extent you have the right to judge others.
As the story goes on, the focus shifts more to the past of some of the club members: it is revealed bit by bit, providing some very touching revelations and insights.
The mood is overhall very balanced and the different elements blend well: you have the serious undertones of these justice issues, you have comedy and some tasteful hints of romance, with the emotional peaks of the last two volumes.
To sum things up: very enjoyable and recommended

Another great work of Mizushiro Setona. I was drawn inevitably by the story & the characters. It's thoughtful, romantic, kind of angsty, and also funny.
