In the Spring she was 16, Takamiya Naho receives a strange, but detailed letter from herself, ten years in the future. The letter reads just like her diary entries, down to the same characters. It is not till two weeks later, when Kakeru shows back up at school, that Naho finishes the letter. This manga makes me smile so much. Every time something happens between Naho and Kakeru I get so happy, I can't help squealing. Although I will say this story evokes some serious heart pangs, it is totally in a good way. The art is beautiful in a unique way, and I just love. It's kind of a shoujo in disguise so if you like shoujo, read it.

Such a unique and original plot with great relatable characters. So glad its being continued because I would hate for this story to be left unfinished, as it is awesome!
But its really sad, so if you like light-hearted manga, then this isn't for you as every time I read it, I almost always end up crying ;_;. Really good and really recommend.

The repetition of regret really got to me. I was in a pre-crying phase after finishing chapter 9.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
26 year old Naho finds out Kakeru liked her the whole time and was given the flowers "from" Kakeru. TEARS! The part where Suwa's letter that said he regrets not supporting Kakeru and Naho and always seeing her cry after the funeral..MORE TEARS
. This manga has a really good plot line. Kakeru must not die. I hope the author does not quit being a mangaka and finishes this manga.Super love the unique story ^o^

At first drawn by its beautiful drawings, I was immediately planning on reading this manga before its first release and have waited over a year and only 9 chapters out, which is pretty disappointing. This manga is a work of art and it is almost like a cross between two other very good series (which I highly recommend if you enjoy this manga in the case of the mood and the drawings/characters) Bokura ga Ita and Bokura wa Itsumo.
The story line is amazingly clever and fresh and new. I love Naho's character as she is very strong; she takes control of her situation and she is responsible, unlike the protagonist in Bokura wa Itsumo, yet she is also so gentle. The best quality about her has to be her sympathy for others and I think that is very distinguishing and strong. This is the perfect quality for someone who is motivated to
I also enjoy these mangas with a group being the center characters and this one does the job well. I seriously have cried in every chapter and it's unfathomable how amazing the art is. It inspires me as I read; I utterly love the art style. I also can't comprehend how sexy Kakeru is, and his personality is really awe-inspiring. It's truly depressing. There are all types of literary irony going on that I think the author uses cleverly and effectively and I enjoy this manga so much (as well as the length of the chapters, wow!) and cannot get bored of it. I'm actually keeping myself from reading anymore because I don't want to wait!
The mini-antagonist was also a pretty good one too.
And, like in Bokura ga Ita, there is a central theme in which is the center and basis for the (love) story, and, like in BGI, it is of a human flaw or human tendency and in this case it is the inclination towards regret, which I feel is very powerful and relatable. This manga is amazing and I can't praise it anymore; I actually really want to buy it, if only it was in English. I'm upset that Takano-sensei wants to retire but according to Baka-Updates she will be finishing the series so I really hope so, or else I will be utterly, utterly sad. However, I waited years for BGI, and this is a manga worth waiting for, so I guess I better get ready. In the meantime, I'll be checking out her other work because she is seriously amazing. I can't find a flaw at all.

Kakerus suicide or Suwa unrequited love which he knows won't be fulfilled
.. I am rooting for Suwa, but this is a complex series. I am loving it, but the mangaka has quit the manga right? :'(Beautiful

I first became aware of Orange when it first came out in the "What's New" section. It's cover art instantly drew me in, but I did not read it until now.... I was already crying by the third chapter. The emotions that Takano Ichigo conveys are so deep, they are hard to describe. The words UsoSora and lola-san123 use are probably better than what I can write. However, I am sure that if someone was to read this manga, they would understand because the emotions that are felt are definitely inherent in all human beings. Better put in the words of UsoSora's title "Something we're all striving to...," the feelings of wanting to right a wrong or to change a regret that are innate transform into something more substantial: the changing of oneself. No longer just a simple fix, it is the effort to better oneself and perhaps saving another in the long-run.
These are sappy words, but if you read Orange, I imagine you will empathize because it is definitely worth reading.

This series is good, but it can be annoying in one-two pages, enough for you want to quit, but wait, don't quit it, it just that if you knew what people think and do all the time, you will too think they are annoying. So don't say that the plot is bad (with it isn't) nor the characters (there are 6 billions humans out there, someone might do the same thing in the same situation).
This is one of the few (very few in fact) of the not current series witch I give over 9 points, going against my rule of rating after I read the whole series.

Earnestly Sweet

The premise that drives the plot is actually pretty sad (really sad once you get to know the characters more) but the story's mostly fluid and focused consistency creates so many sweet emotions. And the theme of leaving behind regrets and changing things for the better (with emotional effort - it's not always easy just because you may have all the answers in front of you) is a nicely done addition.
- Also I usually am not a fan of 'time travel' related series because most are frivolously unrealistic and are hardly attempted to be explained. This one however seems to put a little more thought into it ( and hopefully it will be explained more later). And most importantly, it's underlying theme makes it stand above the rest. All of the characters are earnest and charming.
Not much else to say other than try it!

This is so amazing and unique and I can't wait for more. I've never really thought of a parallel universe in a manga. And I think this is the first manga where I've genuinely loved both male leads and want both of the to have her.

And if all goes according to plan and they manage to save Kakeru in this universe, then they both will get her. AHHH I LOVE THIS!
